An exhausted GP could either try and drive home after 3 back-to-back filming sessions down at Angler's Paradise...or.....he could stay in a Bed and Breakfast establishment at no small expense.or....he could sleep overnight in his bivvy, be safer for the long drive home next morning, plus have the very outside chance of his bait being intercepted by a fish...Yes...we all know which option he took!! Also at the end he throws in a film of an earlier winter session on a new river he has been working with baits and lures for Pike...plus, what is a Dog doing in a fishing film? Yep, you need to watch it all to find out...Another Totally Awesome Fishing film...

There is no filling the boots of David Attenborough..I just hope that other bloke doesn't get it,with the puffa anorak and blow dried hair...David Attenborough's voice is therapeutic and calming, the other bloke's high pitched grating tone is just not the same...They need someone like Stephen Fry, Michael Portillo etc,the voice is why the programmes are so popular. Mind you the filming is also pretty far out there as well..I'm guessing its not a part -cracked secondhand GoPro 7 camera like I use....

@@TAFishing Honestly, you could film your videos on a calculator and I wouldn't care less. You're a treasure mate. I caught the fishing bug far too late, roughly when I was 21. My Stenchound was a Patterdale / Lakeland cross. A real killing machine. If he caught a squirrel or Coney he would eat it! Unless you get too him quickly. The wee bugger caught a fallow dear dawn by the leg one day. The hind was butting him but he never let go til I arrived and called him off. The name? He stunk! So he was an 'old English Stenchound, to anyone that asked what breed he was. Hair like a toilet brush.

I was down in the dumps for weeks and weeks, it's like losing a close relative, I remember how happy and excited they got when I got home from work every day. I get wobbly eyes from watching a quiver-tip over slightly choppy water, it's fine when you're looking at the tip but as soon as you look up at the far bank everything is sort of shimmering for 30 seconds or so. I think it's sort of like how your balance goes weird on dry land after being in a boat all day, the brain has been compensating/filtering all day and it takes a while to get back to normal

Remember years ago fishing a syndicate lake for a few days and nights and missing out on sleep watching what we used to call a monkey climber bite indicator with an isotope insert for 2 days. Definitely with you on the hallucinations.....gotta be where the body is half way between rem and being conscious. I'm surprised you didn't see Smith😂

Smith's face was illuminated in the isotope !!...Haha..I remember the monkey climbers..takes me back at bit. I progressed from those to straightened pieces of coathanger wire ,but the monkey climber was the norm of that era.

Patterdales are amazing little dogs mate. Funny, full of character, not as nuts as a Jack, comical like a mini Lab. Intelligent. My last dog was a Chocolate Lab called Douglas. He was faithful and funny and could sniff out a biscuit hidden in brambles over 100 yards away doing his sniffing like a hoover.

I confess just after we came out of lockdown several fisheries I went to were obviously rammed with anglers ,but many were zipped up inside their bivvies with plumes of smoke leaking out of the zip !!...I guess it was the stress of that era that caused a boom in the consumption of wacky backy...The sweetish smell of it carries across from the other side of the lake. I don't know if they caught anything as I never saw them come out....I doubt they cared !!

Great dogs patterdales I've got 2 mum and daughter, but there's some Parsons/Jack mixed in as both white with black patches but long in the leg and tough as old boots. Young one looks like a real old English terrier. Love them to bits but not for the faint hearted being terrorists. Mine are brilliant out all day at work with me don't run off (for long) and great company but can't take them anywhere social as between the two of them and my deerhound my authority wanes. Prey drive is phenomenal I've seen one of mine attack a bramble after something and she clean bit through an inch thick bramble which then wedged her mouth open!

I hear they are quite something else, but the one I wanted to "borrow" by stuffing it in my holdall, was all sweetness and light. I could tell they have character ,and to be honest I had never knowingly seen one before.

@@TAFishing that's why I love them to be honest they're propper dogs scruffy ruthless little buggers but trust them whole heartedly with my son (2) and are completely part of the family the older of the two is like a stuffed toy when home can pick her up and maul her into a cuddle its ridiculous.

@@TAFishing ..that sweetness and light is a ruse 😂that’s just switched of mode ..should something appear on scene that needs a shaking or escorting off property switched on mode is a whole new box of tricks ..My last one was called “Worry” by Christ if any dog had a fitting name it was her ..she worried the life out of everything for sixteen years .

Brill video graham love your no nonsense fishing we cant all afford top gear and its nice to watch someone of the same mindset . I also love that you tell people where you are its refreshing to not watch a top angler on a private invitation only carp pond . Keep doing what you do . I also follow mike on his adventures as i love the same bush-crafty camping style activities . Id love a day on the water with you maybe if you are in yorkshire one day hit me up the kettle is always on
