How do you decide how to long to make the hook length under the float? Is it meant to be long enough to get near the bottom?
@tezzah...7 сағат бұрын
I used to catch lots of Tench & Crucians on small breadflake in my youth.

Tench are my favourite fish 100%, im off to Horcott lakes ( the tench lake ) again this year on the 18 / 19 / 20th of june for a 48 hour session, went there last year and had 27 tench to 8lb, shame its a 4 hour drive away or i would be there a lot more.

Marsh Farm is great fun! My renewal membership actually arrived today! I hope to meet you one day! Hill pond is great for beginners, but if you fancy going after the bigger fish, I’m sure you already know! But Richardson and Harris have the bigger fish in! Both are fishing well in the right weather!

I already tried this year but too many anglers in the favoured swims ,so I won't bother going again until maybe late September when it thins out a bit.

I've used back leads quite a lot fishing against the far bank on the river Medway. They keep your line well sunk and out of the way of boat traffic. Also it was good to finally meet you at the Bushcraft show and chat about fishing Bury Hill old lake.
