Asr time is like the day is going into night after Asr. So maybe life is day and after life is death i.e night. So Asr time is the time, short time to do good deeds, learn, gain wisdom, do good and guide others, and be patient in the way of Deen.

Al-Asr / Wal-Asr refers to the time when Imam Husain (AS) was matyred in the land of Karbala. This surah refers to Karbala. It refers Yazid's army as at loss while Husain ibn Ali AS and his army who were on righteous path and were patient over the tremendous sufferings.

Nice insight, but I think we should not bring history so that all people ca understand without have to think about this, Some people tend to get into fights when this topics are brought forward , So it;s better to use our current or an general view that is similar to All of us :D Btw Shukran for sharing you view

This( that this surah is talking about Karbala) is not true brother, you are understanding/interpreting in a wrong way.. I am also a Shia and a follower of Ahlulbayt (a.s) but what u are saying is not at all true. Here time could have two interpretations 1. the time from beginning to end... 2. The time when prophet(S) was alive, as that was the time when prophet(S) was alive and quran was revealed. But not referring to Karbala. But imam Hussain(a.s) in Karbala showed who are or how can one successful by clearly showing all the four criterias mentioned in 103:3 1. to believe in Allah 2. righteous deeds 2. advice to truth.. by rejecting Yazid and by standing with truth and advising people towards truth. 4. by patience.. despite all the atrocities he observed patience, and remain thankful to Allah till his last breath, and sacrificed everything in the way of Allah. So in one way we can say Karbala as one of the tafseer of the Surah in general and 3rd ayah in specific.
