Wow Guys, that was absolutely awesome! Way to go. That was one of the best episodes of the year (and I'm a bowhunting nut) I love how you showed the hike, the climb, the steepness of the mountain. You worked your butts off for that one. Well done.

I liked everything about that hunt! Having owned and hunted with horses and mules in the past it’s a hunt like that where all the pain in the ass they cause almost makes it worth keeping those hay burners around! You guys are real carrying 100-116 lbs pack in that steep country, ouch! I got my hunting start chasing bulls in archery season in the Oregon Coast Range. My hunting partner was a timber faller in his twenties. In those days we didn’t bone out the elk, packed em bones an all. We packed a six point out of a thick hole, little over a mile, vine maple, devils club, skunk cabbage, you know. My partner stacked his pack frame high. We hung the pack on the scale at the cooler when we got back, 160 lbs. he scaled out at 169....... oh to be young! Thank you guys.

Loved this rifle hunt! My sons and I have archery hunted that same location. I have seen elk in that same high basin, but at age 60 there was no way I would tackle that steep stuff. Glad to see what it looks like from up there and confirm I had no business up there. Thanks so much. You guys rock!!

This really makes me wish I would have pushed through and gone after the last bull I found this year.. it was the last day of the extended archery season in Utah and I found a good bull that would have been about a 5 mile hike to get to with crazy elevation gain. A snowstorm was moving in and I talked myself out of it, but you have to just go for it! Next time... Thanks for the continued motivation!

I could definitely relate to this video. Been rifle hunting Colorado since 1992. Have been up above 12000 on many occasions. Also to take 10 steps and stop has been my pace too. It’s a lot harder to breath, especially since I live in Kentucky with a elevation of about 600. But well worth the effort.
