How far have you progressed in the game so far?

just as a side note: failing a purple bar is a failed quest instantly no matter what, failing a orange one is just a load of dmg which can wipe a party, but can be skipped with invincibility or other sheninigans : this applies to every quest

Something to note about this guide, it’s actually more beneficial during the SBA portion of the fight to do 2 sets of 2bursts rather than the 3burst followed by the 1burst like you suggested. Reason being is that after any SBA combo more than 1 SBA, it will do a finisher attack based on the initiating player’s element. This finisher attack re-downs the boss again after the SBAs are all done, giving more time to wail on the boss. With only 1 SBA, however, no finisher happens and it is only the SBA itself. In your example with 3burst then 1burst, it would be: 1. SBA #1 hit 2. SBA #2 hit 3. SBA #3 hit 4. 3burst finisher hit 5. SBA #4 hit Whereas the 2/2 method would look like this: 1. SBA #1 hit 2. SBA #2 hit 3. 2burst finisher hit 4. SBA #3 hit 5. SBA #4 hit 6. 2burst finisher hit As you can see, you end up with one more instance of the boss getting caught in animation lock from attacks and so the rest of the party has much more time to throw out extra dps. Another little tip to make this method even better, which is a bit more risky unless you know who uses SBA in what order, is you wait until the last second of the chain chance window before using the second SBA in each 2burst. This forces the boss to stay down just ever so slightly longer than normal and those extra seconds can easily be the difference between your buddies getting off those big hits they were working toward, and simply not having time to get there. The final thing to note is, in a good party using this strategy, your link gauge should be at 100% or close to it by the end of all this SBA chaining. If it isn’t quite there, popping your blue potions can give that extra last few percents. Most of the time you will be able to enter link time right around when he starts getting up from the second 2burst so you are able to squeeze in that last bit of dps before he finally leaves. Most good groups that execute this properly will either delete him during this phase before he can even leave, or leave him low enough that he will get up and do his initial overdrive mech with the purple magic circles on the ground, and then immediately go to the front of the ship for the final phase. Tl;dr: do 2 sets of 2bursts during SBA phase, not 3burst > 1burst. Try to aim for link time after both 2bursts, using blue potions to push to 100% link gauge if needed.

Honestly it doesn't even matter when you grab the character because once you get a terminus weapon then that specific weapon is automatically removed from the reward pool meaning no duplicates.

Light, light heavy, heavy attack for best dps on vane btw :) and every hit from the final heavy counts as combo finisher (for his cooldowns/any combo finisher boost dmg)

Ive done this quest 30 times and only gotten 3 weapons, honestly, there should be an update to improve the drop rate or at the very make the drops guaranteed but still random, especially since this fight has a one hit kill move if you don't do enough damage at the end. Even Monster Hunter didn't have drop rates this low

PS. The horns are not optional if you plan to max out the terminus weapon the boss drops. You'll need 3 to max the weapon out. Your goal should be to get a horn break, the boss will die eventually,...or not, but at least you'll get a horn out of it. Try to factor in 200 stun power if you can for an easier time, and use high stun skills on his head whenever convenient.

Im still on bahamut versa, nothing before him was a challenge so I wasn't prepared for the dps check bs, got him down to 2% today but then insta death. Need to grind some better sigils.

How sure are you that the game doesn't first decide if it will roll a weapon, then check if you have the character unlocked and if you don't just void the drop? Was it confirmed by the developers? If it wasn't and if they've possibly implemented it the way I said above, you're actually hurting your chances at getting terminus weapons to drop by not unlocking more characters.

Okay, I cleared Proto Bahamut in a random group on my first try, didn't even arrange with anyone in a discord server. This guide showed all the mechanics clearly, how to resolve them, and so on. For that, I thank you.

Great vid, im stuck on Bahumut Versa quest to get promoted to proud lol. I get him to near death but i cant pass the final dps check fast enough. Gotta grind more i guess Ive been doing mostly a holy Trinity party of DPS,Support,tank, Secondary dps. This party is Narmaya (main),Cagliostro or Main character (not sure whos ultimately better as a support but both are built, im leaning towards caglisostro) Vane as tank and Rackam as ranged secondary DPS.

Im just jealous of all you who can find others in matchmaking in Proud that arent completely braindead and run the critical gauge out in the first 2 min.

Having known in advance that I could increase my chances for my Lancelot, Percival or Ferry weapons, Daaaaamn I would have not recruited all the other that fast!! But, I really am enjoying the Proto Bahamut fight and going at it in 4-6 minutes a run, I dont mind now! Already got 6 weapons! This game is a drug!

One of the team I played with didn’t even go to the last stage we killed him when he turned to fire and the smart idea when he drop in the ship use ur own art or move alone when he tries to get up again another member do the same alone same the other team members so that’s the monster can’t get up and u have the chance to end it here. I hope u understand this is the best way to do it fast.

I'd like to try other characters but knowing this, I'm stuck with the starter 6 until lvl 100 when unlocking other characters saves you many hours of leveling and grinding. Stuff like this why I'm afraid to open any locked chests just in case they are something that scales with your level and are exponentially more valuable if not touched until endgame.

They gotta fix the drop rate or make an exchange system for the Terminus weapons..the drop rate is terrible..smh

You get weapons for characters regardless of whether or not you've unlocket them or not.

I get mvp as eugen 98% of the time at this stage, using eugen makes things faster. i put three grenades ahead where the crystals spawn so you can 1hit destroy them when they spawn. During the part where bahamut fires that insta kill breath where you run to the side, I plant three grenades ahead on the part where he lands after (left side of the boat) you can also paralyze him if you equipped eugens skill. My grenade hits for 400k+ so planting three is insta 1.2m+ at the start of the phase. (So much more if you have sup damage sigil) SPAM ALL BLUE POTIONS FOR LINK METER you get link points when for using blues, this one I wish all my party knows. During LINK TIME immediately spam grenade. They insta explode during that time.

The first point you covered is super important for Terminus and Awakening Sigils. Do NOT unlock characters who you don't plan to use right away. Doing so enlarges the drop pool, which makes it harder to get the Terminus weapons and Awakening Sigils for your specific main characters. I'm almost tempted to start over because of this.

I don’t get the first strat. You mention early not to unlock characters you don’t intend to play right away at the beginning, but as it goes on it sounds like having more characters unlocked increases your ability to get weapon parts for the main you play. Am I missing something? It almost sounds like we should unlock all characters prior to beginning Terminus Weapons if we want better drops. Or, is it the other way around? I cannot tell.

Great game but like many other jrpgs who truly start after the endgame it begs the question, to what point? The game is already over, there is no pvp, no ladder nothing to actually do to fully utilize your brand new gear. Many people won't actually bother with end game content because it just doesn't go anywhere. Cool game tho

The boss isn't that hard. It has some very predictable pattern of attacks. Some of them are a little bit chaotic, but nothing anyone won't adapt to after seeing it like 3 times or so. Bahamut has high damage so some skills that increases Hp+ auto revive are pretty good for this fight.

Mate I hate this quest, think I've done it about 60 times and not even 1 weapon drop yet

First time I fought Proto, the team burned their SBA's super early, and we didn't have the DPS to finish the final phase. If he fully charges it, he evaporates the ship, forcing a game over. I will never pop an SBA if it throws off the timing, and I'll do my best to make sure we use the SBA at 15% health or less, as we can actually skip the last phase entirely by bursting him down, then popping a Link mode to finish off any health.

For me this is the only mistake they do in the game. This fight is super long and boring and you need to repeat again and again and again for a little drop rate rng on all hero you have and not all hero you USE in the fight. You are force to play online whit random guys and you wipe 8/10 because you can't do in solo and I don't want play online..... And yes there is some video on KZfaq farm this proto in solo but they have already terminous weapon or pretty close to full build all "farming" party 😑 Ps sorry for bad English

There is really no need to hold out on a character. You'd want to farm for them all anyway plus the drop rate is not terrible, I am about 50 times in and only missing 5 weapons. Plus some of the weapon drops actually made me try playing the character instead of just sticking to what I'm comfortable with. Also every upgrade on the terminus weapon made your ether cannon hits like a truck mine dealt 500k damage every charged shots currently averaging at 6 mins and a half per run which is good

And what it iss the solution for us that summon everyone?

Can I uninvite characters? Be like hey, ill invite ya back once I get Yodarha's weapon. Also I prefer saving SBA for final dps check, wiped way more often using them before sub 20% dps check.
