After about 6 weeks of waiting since installing the Tahoma 31 sod in the front and back yard of my new house, the young grass is getting a nice low mow and a spray of certainty weed killer. What?! Razorback grass it better?! You have got to be kidding me. LT, if you only had access to equipment that weighed about 300 lbs and had a roller on it, then you might have a chance to obtain this smooth Clemson TifGrand grass. But for real, that T31 looking great. Music was solid today guys!

i could probably start reel mowing the front yard now. but the back yard needs quite a bit of leveling before i could reel mow it back there. the plan is to do some sand leveling near the end of june :)

Are you able to measure in grams? Much more accurate compared to ounces when you need those small quantities.

I’m currently going to school for turf management and would actually suggest mowing before you spray a herbicide. This destroys the cuticle of the weed and the herbicide will get in the weed faster. Not trying to insult knowledge just trying to help a fellow turf enthusiast.

Colby Taylor That is super interesting to me! Thank you! I love hearing the science based best practices (I’m an optometrist) instead of “well my neighbor joe says...” so you can spray any herbicide right after mowing?

I curious how many gal/1,000 sq ft you are using for your sprayer. I just bought the same one after seeing yours and it’s calibrated to .45 gal/1,000 sq ft @ 20 psi.

Trent Burns I don’t go by the pre calibration stats. I just put enough for my given area and then go over that section in different directions until the product is gone.

Did Certainty take care of all of your weed troubles? or, did you have to use some other things? I'm asking because I laid new bermuda in the Fall, and am fighting weeds like crazy! lol..

You should just use Lawn Dork for Certainty. Just plug in your sq footage and it does the label rate math for you.

Why you doing math? Just use the scooper, it tells you how many scoops to use. Doesn't mowing directly after spraying kind of defeat the purpose or surfactant? Just wondering.
