Nah, several issues with the truckwit - Veered over without signaling - By the finger-wagging, obviously doing all this to prevent the cammer from passing - Refused to move back into their lane despite the danger they were causing While I see what they mean cammer "could have braked a little", issue is this kinda situation I'd also want to get the FUCK away from this psychopath, and being behind one after they try to prevent a pass never went well for me.

I see it constantly on these kinds of videos and it’s what triggers the brake checks and crazy behavior 99% of the time. And at a certain age driving privileges need to be mandatorily assessed for competency and safety by retaking of the road test portion of the licensing exam and having medical clearance for sight and functionality. As a member or the rescue squad on my counties fire service we respond to a fair number of accidents where elderly drivers either panicked and caused an accident failed to maintain positive control of the vehicle or pressed the accelerated instead of the brakes. Many of them lose confidence in their driving ability and operate with an overabundance off caution leading to such incidents that can have undesired consequences, driving like many other skill are perishable as we get older. Not saying the younger driver (cammer) is a 100% right but there was issues with the motor vehicle operated by the older person.

While I agree that the cammer isn't 100% right but motor vehicle operation is a perishable skill the older people get, especially senior citizens. The elderly operator was having difficulty changing lanes to make their exit and the Cammer did allow her to go ahead only to have the elderly operator reduce speed with an over abundance of caution and come to a dead stop on the blind corner of the exit which doesn't have a posted speed limit for the exits curve. As a rescue squad member of my counties fire service our squad has responded to calls where the elderly driver was involved in an accident. It has become common for insurance companies or lawyers to request statements from us or have us testify to what the elderly drivers have said as we treated them to the point we actually tell them not to discuss the actual accident with us just how the feel or any injuries they have so that we can treat/transport them cause a lot of people like to blame them and their not always wrong. It's pretty hard to sit on the stand and try to explain how they told you they accidently hit the gas and not the brake and flew into a business or hit someone and panicked.

9. Cammer absolutely engaged with the truck. I get it. There's something about not wanting to give up your space to some jerk who thinks they own the road or can do whatever they want, but you shouldn't ever engage with them. As soon as he started coming over into your lane, a good driver would have backed off and let the guy go on about his day. Cammer instead sped up to block the truck. Then the cammer claims the truck pitted himself, but from what I can see the cammer cut hard to the right when the trucks rear bumper was just in the right spot. I can be that kind of jerk that doesn't let aggressive drivers into my lane, but I draw the line at contact and potentially hurting someone. Now the cammer is fighting insurance, which is a nightmare in situations like these. Truck is 80% at fault, cammer is 20% at fault. You have to remember that aggressive drivers don't know who you are, so it cannot be personal. EDIT: Cammer really thought that was attempted murder by the truck, but honestly I feel like the cammer could get charged with reckless driving and assault based on that hard cut to the right that sent the truck out of control. Again, not saying the truck isn't in the wrong. Cammer needs to take a step back and reflect on how their own actions also influenced the outcome of their interaction.
@ClausBriorie
@ClausBriorie Ай бұрын
It seems to me that the pickup tried pushing the cammer to the previous guard rail, and the cammer then pointed its car to the right, attempting to stay in his lane. The pickup initiated the contact, and for me he would be at fault for improper lane changing and maybe attempted murder The PIT happened because the pickup kept steering left to push the cammer and accelerating, while the cammer decelerated w.r.t. the pickup and turned right to stay in lane Personally, I would honk, get the plates and file a report, bringing it to the cops (and avoid all the headache of insurance and repairs), but I do not think that cammer is wrong
@elizabethbarnett4273
@elizabethbarnett4273 Ай бұрын
Do you really not understand how the hard cut to the right happened? It is because they were holding the steering wheel in that direction to prevent being pushed to the left and when they were no longer making contact with the truck, they quickly went to the right because the steering wheel was still be held in the same position. Think of it like playing tug of war and one team lets go. Seriously, how do people function without being able to figure the most simple and obvious things.
@bvoyelr
@bvoyelr Ай бұрын
Broadly agree, but as other commenters have pointed out, the hard steer to the right was them trying to maintain their lane while the truck was pushing them off the road. To me, the key takeaway is this: congratulations, cammer, you were right. Do you *actually* feel like you won? Because I feel like a win would have not been waiting hours on the side of the road with the guy you road raged with. I feel like a win would have been you hitting the fun button on your dash cam, heading home, and submitting the near miss to the video compilation site. I know in the moment it's hard to have that perspective (Lord knows, I've been there 100 times), but the only way to win a road rage battle is to not engage.
@ClausBriorie

@bvoyelr broadly agree. I think I would not do the same as the cammer, but at the same time, I'm really glad with the perspective of punishment for the pickup driver. I asked how fast I should be driving and he said at least 70. He said cops will pull you over for creating an unsafe situation by driving so much slower than traffic. Apparently it isn’t a speed “limit” in those places.

@ribo451 yea, it's crazy how that works, where certain areas, you'll get pulled over and searched for going 3 over, but in others, YOU are the problem if you arent going as fast as everyone else regardless what the sign says.
