It's been an enjoyable ride for me - but that menhir maintenance is a massive killer - i have to house rule to make it more bearable. But I adored that storyline.

Yeah, the story is very cool, and the reason I want to play more! We’ll definetively play on easy mode from here on!

Great review guys! I appreciate all the good and critical things you had to say about it. Everything I have heard so far has mirrored what you said. Great story but very hard and brutal. The sole reason I haven’t played it yet is because the mood I have been in. I do feel like I need to be in the right mindset as well. I will definitely be giving it a try at some point.

Being a "Gameplay AllIn" + some extra stufd guy but still waiting for my language version... i was so much disappointed after NPIs review... with your review in addition i understand more kow and am relieved... didnt know about the story mode yet ;) We plan to play it with 4 players when it arrives. Lets see ;)

I hope you’ll like it! There is a lot to like here, so it really comes down to your personal preferences if the negatives are negative for you or not!

From what you guys said, you should definitely play this from now on in story mode. For me, it’s the perfect difficulty for the game. You still have to be mindful of your resources but you spend way more time doing things and progressing instead of grinding. In the ‘normal’ mode I’m not a huge fan. In story mode I think it’s fantastic.

We’ll probably go back into it with story mode sometime when we have time! Sounds like the better version of the game for us!

I’m going through the campaign solo during lockdown. I play easy and I also house rule here and there, just to have the story and exploration and encounters. That’s more than enough for me to enjoy it.

Nice review! We are getting our copy in the second wave with all the extra stuff. I do enjoy hard / punishing co-op games and for example enjoy arkham horror tcg on hardest difficulty so maybe this could be my style of game! Btw still waiting for that discord invite for being a patreon! 🙄

This seems like the consensus from a lot of reviewers. I really like the idea of it but it might be best to simply read the novelized version of this game and not have to go through the tedious gameplay. I'm glad that I did not go through with the purchase of this game. Perhaps when it's on the market for cheap I'll take a stab at picking one up.
