Sorry folks but if you can't fit Through the Desert into the new box, I really want to see how you are doing it. It boggles my mind that anyone would struggle with it?

Through the Desert is one of my favorite games of all time. Very simple to teach, lots of ways to score points (most of each color, points on the watering holes, palm trees, crossing rivers, enclosed areas and now salt delivered to cities). It also scales very well from 2 to 5 and very fast game with a lot of competition. The box for this edition is terrible. Djin and objective expansions aren't good imo, but I like the other 2 expansions.

I think the expansion is a necessity, like Tuscany for Viticulture and Prelude for Terraforming Mars. With the meeple and resources you start off with, it also reduces the playing time, another bonus. Will you all be at Gencon?

Oh my gosh! The laughter on Low Lands! I was in tears, laughing with you. [I rewatched it twice - 🤣] I guess the moral of the story is: The back of box descriptions are rarely exclusive to one game, and that many gamers don't take time and read the backs of their game boxes. I didn't realize I didn't until now!! But I do line up my backs and fronts! Thanks for the fun!

Very excited to learn you will attend GenCon 2024! I will watch for you. Usually I use GenCon to learn a few of the games I bought in previous years and haven't been able to play yet. I also am fortunate to GM for AEG's Big Game Night (Friday night) where we have a blast teaching about 800 gamers some of AEG's newest games. GenCon is lots of fun, but, lots and lots of gamers. In particular, watch the crowd anticipating the opening of the vendor hall on Thursday morning about 8 or 8:30 (I think) - a few thousand of us, requested NOT to run but walk, like kids in a candy store. Also, you are saying Las Vegas correctly, but most of us in America say "Lost Wages" - say it fast a few times. That's what happens in Vegas, yes, wages stay in Vegas :-). Safe travels ! I have some Norwegian in me (my namesake as my Great Grandfather immigrated from Norway to the U.S. around 1900).
