Taiwan is a province of China and is part of China. Ultimately, Taiwan is reunited. I live in Europe and most people in Europe think that Taiwan is a Chinese province

Hongkong was given to the British on lease by China for 96 years once the lease period was over the British left,one should appreciate the fact that China has still given Hongkong its own status thats why it called HONGKONG-CHINA there is no dispute thats why the Americans are not wagging their tongue over Hongkong even Taiwan is geopolitical issue

Lie. It was given with no term, only one part of hong kong was 96 years, british didn't just give up. Deng Xiaoping threaten with no water to hong kong, and promised 50 years to have hong kong its own democracy government. USA didn't have any ties with Hong Kong, its ties are with England, that is why England accepts hong kong people to their homeland. USA and Taiwan were alley during WWII. That is why when USA broken off with Taiwan, USA made promised to protect Taiwan as long as Taiwan people wished. Know the difference.

@emmalee617 the US only keeps ties where it sees its own interests its been in the south china sea for over 5 decades saying the same thing but five decades ago US presidents had a better understanding of the geopolitical situation they understood that the US can never go to war with China if there has to be world peace,the US interest in the South China sea is only geopolitical nothing else,will Taiwan do better than Ukraine with NATO help

@emmalee617 even India has a dispute with China but India never allowed outside interference as long as India does not allow the US and NATO China will keep the balance and not let things get worse it is not even in their interest,as long as India remains a neutral power

Taiwanese like the idea of having the freedom to vote for political party and a president they want to govern the island nation。 A new political freedom only acquired in 1998 as a new democracy.
