I woke up from a dream a few minutes ago. In my dream I was in a room from my childhood house, the switchboard was yellow the floor was red as so many old Bengali houses used to have. Lying on one side, in those lucid moments when one thought slides effortlessly into another, I suddenly remembered you. From "what color is a dream" to "what color is your raindrop". 8/9 years ago, I used to listen to you regularly. Your music was one of those mutual secrets among friends, hidden treasured pieces one would share together in an intimate moment. I had not thought of your music in several years. Your album has fallen from the grace of the algorithms. Algorithms, who like in Borgesian parables, influence and perhaps even control what will be remembered in posterity, and what not. Perhaps someday the throw of dice will bring your music again to the recommended list of your old followers and new admirers. Until then in my mind, you will always remain a beautiful secret of my youthful years, to be shared with old friends and new lovers.
