I remember Judy, she was a hands on manager. Wonderful lady. The resort was so much nicer those days. More classy than the commercialized version today. For instance when you called they would answer "its a beautiful day at LQ Hotel" and the on hold music was classical instead of the annoying infomercial l that plays now days. I first went there in 86 when I was staying at a motel in Palm Desert and took a drive to see the hotel and they were celebrating the 60th Anniversary by making everything $26. Room was $26, same with golf. LQ was a very special place for me and I used to go every year mostly in the summer and fall when the rates were lower. I can remember when tennis was free to guests and they didnt charge you for chips in the mexican restaurant for example..Small things but shows the difference in times. One of my favorite things was the old bar and lounge near the check in area where the bar tender was standing in a sunken area so that if you were sitting at the bar you would be eye to eye with him. The whole room was so elegant with big comfy chairs, quiet and serene.
