Email's been broken for years. Not anymore - we fixed it. HEY’s fresh approach transforms email into something you want to use, not something you’re forced to deal with. HEY.com.
In this detailed walkthrough, we take you through the product - showing you what's different, what's better, and how HEY is unlike anything that's come before it.

Quite surprising take on email. I like it. Also surprised that with so much talent at Google and considering Gmail is one of their premiere products, they haven't innovated more in the space.

Two things: 1. Everything about Google, from their end products, to their dev-facing and open source projects, to descriptions I've heard of how they recruit engineers -- make me think it's mostly a really dumb company with lots of capital and a dominant, unbreakable market position. Not to say that they don't have a lot of really talented people, obviously. 2. And even if you do have talented people, if the end user is not the customer, but the product -- the product will never really be that user-friendly.

Gmail does offer most everything here. Simply label your emails as "Reply Later", and then click the folder called Reply Later. To see unread emails only, just search for "is:unread" ... Same for pinned items and stuff like that. Gmail supports this, but maybe people don't realize it.

IIt will be a perfect solution if Hey includes a to-do list as well. My point is that "Reply later" usually involves some tasks to accomplish before the reply. So, in this case, we can create a task and link this task to the original e-mail, which goes to "set aside" stack. So we need one to-do list and one stack instead of two stacks.

I've been joined at the hip with email since the very first version of Eudora back in the stone ages. I've tried every email app created...ever. But I have never witnessed thinking this far outside the box before HEY! This is such a profoundly needed way to work in email, but the problem is how do you get everyone using email to listen to this 37-minute video? I'm a huge fan of HEY and spent a working lifetime owning a technology company, but I just "thought" I understood it. I didn't...not completely. Not until I viewed this video. People who simply try the app for 14 days may like it...but will they like it enough to fork over $99/year for it? Not likely, because they'll see it as just another email app...not an entirely new email way of life. You need to figure out how to condense these 37 minutes into 20 minutes and then somehow get folks to give you 20 minutes of their time. I wish you all the best!

I like the simplified look and the advanced functions that are made easily accessible. So many of these concepts are stuff that I jotted down when thinking of designing my own "dream email client". It is to be noted that lots of this stuff exists in other clients in some form or another... like read the next email with a shortcut/swipe or snoozing an email to reply later. Some functionalities will definitely need updating to be made manageable in the long term, like the Screener History @17:55 doesn't have any filters, which will be necessary after screening a week's worth of emails.

First, On Gmail and many other, you can customize to see only unread emails on top. Second, the option of Archiving or just simply replying back has already been designed and used on other email providers like TypeApp, Spike and ...(even more, you can write your reply anytime you want but schedule it to be sent later on any time in the future on your exact date and time). Third, I don't see your theme customizing on your app which is a very big negative on phones. Fourth, you can customize your email app the way it shows all unread emails together, simply by defining how many lines of the email's contents you like to see which will result in much faster reviews on bunch of emails open all together. Fifth, for the Feed and Imbox options you designed, there is a much easier way by labeling emails and categorizing the upcoming similar emails automatically to their final destinations. This way you have more than two options for major divisions and it will work better for those who are getting tons of emails a day from a lot of different sources. Sixth, Seventh and ... for everything you talked about and many other that you haven't even thought about, there are functions which have been designed and they work perfectly on the email host's app similar the two I named at the beginning BUY unfortunately the developers of those successful apps haven't made any presentations for their job like you did (This makes you a great marketer) and finally for all these, $99 price range is beyond lots of people capability to stomach it. Good luck with your 2020 innovation!

I like this approach but limiting the "folders" to effectively 3 is limiting. I want some more than just "paper trail" vs a "feed". If there was an ability to create customized stacks I'd likely pay for this. Further, there are many instances where emails from the same sender would need to go to the paper trail while others from the same sender would make more sense in the feed.

One of my mail providers recently turned off POP3. I know, it's old. It was outdated cruft that somehow worked for me reading certain email only at home about 10 years ago. Finding good email clients to handle multiple inboxes and maintaining filters (on Linux) is also a great waste of lifetime. Google's product seemed to be the best on the market and still not what I expect a good email client should do for me and how I organize my workflows and keep all notifications and notes to a minimum, not cluttered around everywhere. And it finally poored more ads in my inbox after being silent for many years. I dreamed of something like a privacy API for email (who can PUT emails in my inbox and how many at which RATE). Seems you've taken the less techy road to design a product for everyone. I'll try that out in the coming weeks. Thanks to the Changelog podcast for the hint.

Hats off to you guys. You’ve really done a fundamental rethinking of the JTBD, and the result looks wonderful. One thing I wonder about: in the “focus and reply” I am responding to emails. But what about the emails i need to write? Why should the emails i need to write from scratch and the emails i need to respond to live in two separate places? They both should fall under the time block of “doing email”. It would be great if you guys could address that fragmentation so that when it’s time for me tp focus and “do email”, i can can see ALL the emails i need to write-both responses and emails i need to send out from scratch.

I love the approach to email. It's MY "IMbox", so I should be able to do with it what I want :-) 1) But now my agenda and email are married. Are you planning on supporting this in the future? Would I have to manage my agenda and send meeting invitations from Gmail or Outlook? 2) What does the planned offline functionality look like (e.g. in planes)
