I love the concept of the song. A different side for Machel, and that is something that totally out-stands from his whole “image” or “stage presence” per-say. Someone who is all about the wine and grind is speaking out upon life, the struggles and what not. This is not his first time though, if you look at the meaning behind “Bus head” or take it down with Dloxx - this man is doing a lot for the genre of Soca. But, also a-lot for the people, and speaking upon real life scenarios. It’d be nice to sing with him on stage one day or produce one of his songs. Just before graduating High-school this year, I managed to sing “Like a boss”, “Mr. Fete”, “Happiest Man Alive” - those are just some of his tracks I enjoy, and took the time to group up dancers, & trying to find the instrumental or a version I can pretend like its Soca Monarch too, here in Toronto and perform for my school. Machel is a phenomenal artist who has people that can write meaningful lyrics, while he also can write a wicked story or lay down a powerful concept for a song. Great to see just the beginning of your 2018 adventure. Blessings to the King of Soca!!
