Every young lovers dream, but unusually for the 1910's, it's the girl who's craving privacy. Lighting the gaslamps before mother arrives home is a wise move! Played on my Dulcetto cabinet gramophone.

Glad you enjoyed! Many of his songs were about relationships & he was quite a 'ladies man' in real life.

Hadn't seen Billy on that label, I always love his songs.

The label was a 'budget' subsidiary of Columbia, issued from 1913-C.1916 to compete with cheap German imports. Tho' short lived, it sold well due to the cheap price. Billy can be found on nearly every label because he made a practice of recording the same song on several, to prevent cover artists exploiting his songs. He can also be found on many re-issue labels.
