I really wish I could get some of these sets from the collection, they are an incredible gem. It's too bad Disney doesn't make good sets like these anymore.

I totally agree! While I’m so thankful that we got 30 sets and 68 discs, there was so much more that needed to be released! Specifically episodes of the Walt Disney Anthology Series and The Mickey Mouse Club

Love your passion, man! I have 18 tins and counting (have the four True Life adventures as well) . Greetings from Sweden!

Thank You so much! I’m glad that you love my passion. Walt Disney Treasures is my favorite series of all time and it’s been that way since 2004 when I was only seven! It molded me into who I am today, and I just wish more than anything else that Leonard Maltin could do more sets on Blu-ray!

(Warning: Long comment) Hey Ryan! I'm glad you could make a review on this extremely rare set, for quite a while I've been dreaming to get it in my hands, but unfortunately I can't due to money issues (I don't have more than 2000 dollars), but someday I will... You're definitely an inspiration for me as I've been wanting to collect these particular DVD's for a long while (I once nearly got "Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume 1", "Mickey in B&W Volume 1" and "Oswald" in 2017 before deciding to spend it on Nintendo Switch games), and today I've started my journey, albeit not with the American versions with tins, but rather with the much more obscure Japanese releases, yes, 16 of the 30 releases were released in Japan, and they haven't been archived on the internet, and there's not even a lot of pictures of how the menus look like. In case you're wondering, the Japanese WDT release I got was "The Chronological Donald Volume 3", which was arguably much more cheaper and easier to get than it's 200 dollar costing American twin, tho the same can't be said to the Japanese version of "The Chronological Donald Volume 4", which is as expensive and rare as the 2008 American release. I did my research to see details about those Japanese WDT DVD's and they do not come in tins, but rather, they come in particular cases that remind me of the early "Looney Tunes Golden Collection" standalone DVD cases (not the standard ones from the entire collection), and they were also made in limited quantities, so maybe that explains the rarity of some releases like Donald Volume 4 or "More Silly Symphonies". If everything goes correctly, I'll be uploading a video about the Walt Disney Treasures DVD's from Japan and even an opening and menu walkthrough of the release I got, the first ever of it's kind, so wish me luck and hopefully I complete my collection someday! (Also a fun fact: Japan was the only country to get a non-cartoon WDT release (in this case it was "Disneyland: Secrets, Stories and Magic"))

Thank you for presenting a more in-depth look at this set!, my favorite Disney Treasures sets include Behind The Scenes at The Walt Disney Studio, The Complete Goofy, On The Front Lines, all four volumes of The Chronological Donald, both volumes of The Complete Pluto, Disney Rarities and The Adventures of Oswald, The Lucky Rabbit. One thing I will admit, I was always a bit confused regarding the Costco set and the D23 sets because there were more of a particular set made than, for example the 130,000 it was limited to, I don't know if those numbers just applied for the tins or something? regardless, I love this phenomenal series and I really appreciate the time and effort Leonard Maltin and crew put into these sets, also that's so cool that you met Leonard, pretty jealous lol. thanks again for sharing!

You’re Welcome! Thank You so much for watching and mentioning your favorite Walt Disney Treasures sets! Getting to meet Mr. Maltin in person was honestly my personal favorite moment of my life. I feel so lucky for how often I get to interact with him and his daughter Jessie to the point where I’ve become a friend of theirs. I’m looking forward to seeing them again one day and I hope that you’ll get to meet both of them in person too!

Wish my comment didn’t commit sepuku but I’ll just say it again I wish Disney could rerelease this series or continue it with some kind of spiritual successor series. I only own two volumes of the whole series, The Adventures of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse in Black and White Volume 1, but I absolutely loved what I watched and the presentation of it all. I wish I can grab more sets like Black and White Volume 2 and On the Front Lines but man are they expensive. Thanks for sharing this part of this amazing series and hope we can get more of this type of content in the future! (I mean it’s not like Disney+ is ever going to have stuff like Mickey’s Mellerdrammer)

Almost three years in, and Disney + has still barley even scratched the surface with vintage content! They still have only two black and white shorts and 82 classic cartoon shorts! Sadly anything that isn’t brand new or doesn’t have the Star Wars or Marvel logo on it Disney + doesn’t seem to care about at all!

Hey Ryan, amazing collection you have! I managed to collect all the Walt Disney Treasures last year, it was a hassle but I’m proud that I was able to pick up all of the Walt Disney treasures sets, such nostalgic works of art! What TV and supported resolution do you use to watch the Walt Disney Treasures? I remember watching these sets on 4k, but they didn’t look so great. Now, I’m watching it on my Samsung 1080p HDTV, but the DVD’s still don’t look the best on the screen. I was also wondering what picture preset do you watch animation on (such as Standard, natural, vivid, movie mode, etc.)? I know these questions are picky but I just want to make sure I’m getting an accurate picture and native resolution when I’m watching these beautiful works of art! I would appreciate it if you could answer my questions! Thanks!

I personally watch my Walt Disney Treasures on my 1080P TV. While they obviously don’t look as good as a Blu-ray I still think that they hold up pretty well especially when viewed upscaled on a Blu-ray player. I sadly still do not have a 4K TV so I couldn’t tell you how I think they would look in 4K.

@@ryanstreasures2491 That’s nice to hear. Do you happen to know what TV model you watch your Treasures on because from your videos, the picture quality is top notch. Also, do you know which picture preset mode you use to watch your Treasures or any animated content in general? I did research online and it says that “Movie” mode is the most accurate but the colors look dull for me.

Hey mate great video! Just have a question, were they suppose to be more waves or was it always the idea to release the ones we got? Also how much percentage of the mickey and family shorts will you say are in this collection?
@ryanstreasures2491
@ryanstreasures2491 2 жыл бұрын
Thankfully every theatrical Disney animated short from 1929-1962 is included in this set except Susie the Little Blue Coupe and the three Chip ‘n Dale solo shorts. Leonard Maltin wanted to do more waves, but sadly after Bob Iger forced Dick Cook to leave no one in the higher ups seemed interested in doing more.

@@ryanstreasures2491 There was supposed to be a new Disney legacy collection to come out in multiple waves on blu-ray. I can’t post any links here but if you look up Walt Disney Legacy Collection blu ray it there’s an article in Disney fanon where they even have all the content detailed for every different wave

@@MrBane-hv1qp Sadly that was a fan made idea, I know because it was the idea of one of my best friends Ryan Bannon, WaltWiz1901. I sure do wish that it would happen though!
