When they were broadcast on MTV in 480, why pay for the extra time to edit HD? Remember, back then HD TV's were still a rarity. My buddies parents bought a 65" HD TV, and then couldn't watch anything in HD because NOTHING was broadcast in HD back then. The rare DVD was 720. Oh, and computers weren't able to render a 5 minute video in less than 10 minutes. It was more like 10 hours.

15 years ago.. what the heck.. lol… I’m so freaking proud to have been a part of this era and this music. It’s hard to imagine what it will sound like to a young kid in another 15 years from now, when it’ll be “oldies”- but I’m inclined to think it’s gonna sound damn cool!! 😎 When this album came out, I was blasting it in my red Volkswagen Jetta with beige leather interior and a sunroof, and life was sweet. Has just gotten my first apartment, was going to college… man how time flies!

I bought this album in 2006 when I was tech school for the USAF, and ever since then I’ve been sold on these guys. Their music was always with me whenever I went overseas going through good, bad, and cray times. This song is definitely timeless for me as well as the band.

MyAcresOfDiamonds This has been one of those weeks where I've been listening to old bands, reminiscing in the past. There's so many memories tied in with each TBS song for me. Lost friendships, my teen angst, getting through it all with the help of Music.
@MyAcresOfDiamonds8 жыл бұрын
yeah, music has really helped me through life. i can just feel their passion and i don't feel alone with my feelings anymore, and suddenly everything is okay. and i think that's why most musicians play, just looking for a release, to work through their own battles, and they end up helping everyone else through their own trials in life. It''s an amazing thing. and TBS represents that time in our lives when we had so much 'angst' like you said.

I feel like younger generations are going to wonder why our music videos are so blurring. I can't tell if I'm going blind or if it's a low quality.
@maxadam24475 жыл бұрын
Videos that have been on KZfaq for a long time actually have degraded in quality. KZfaq has used multiple different video stream formats, and these all use lossy compression, which makes the files smaller while making a small trade-off for video quality. Normally this isn't an issue, but after a few different transcodes, things start to get fuzzy. Really we can only hope that internet archivists have saved our best content to reupload later, or some of these will slowly decay to gif quality.

Chris Weidmark the quality is likely to be lower than it is now especially considering the video is about 13 years old
@heiwajimas4 жыл бұрын
Actually, it's just this upload of the video that's in shit quality. Back then KZfaq couldn't carry the best quality...there's other, newer uploads of this video that are in better quality. Around this time and earlier the videos were made for MTV, Fuse, etc and not for KZfaq.

Call it emo or whatever you want but this is a massive rock song. Glaring guitars that any guitarist should tip their hats to. Booming bass. Blasting drums. Vocals crisp and in your face. These guys were on every magazine in the mid 2000's especially when this came out. I remember seeing it and being like "wow, I remember listening to their demos". Warner Brothers really pushed them to the top with this whole album and it gave it all back. An honest 8.6 out of an impossible 10 rock song. Oh, and I watched a video that Fred (Guitarist/vocals at the time) made during the pandemic and he said that Adam did several takes of him jumping in the air and falling straight on his back. He said it was bruised for weeks.
