Riding a recently resurrected BMW R100RS from Maryland to Texas, taking iconic roads such as the original Route 66. Visiting some Roadside America sites such as Wigwam Village in Cave City, KY, Lambert's Cafe, The Peabody Hotel for the Duck Walk, BMWRA National Rally in Harrison, AR, Christ of the Ozarks, Munger Moss Motel, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Uranus, the Devil's Elbow Inn, John's Modern Cabins, the Wagon Wheel Motel and seeing the largest ketchup bottle in Collinsville, IL.

Well done! The RS looked 10/10 the entire video. Silver hides dirt so well :)

RS looks so good in the pictures. Had one in the eighties. My friend has it now. Did many rides in france. Still have a 1979 RS and a 1979 R80. Both great bikes. U.K.

It is a great bike, I wished I would be able to tour across Europe on one! Glad you got to do all that!

What a grand adventure. I watched the 53 minute build and understand your confidence in going on a long trip. I just bought "5 days ago" a 1994 RS with 35k miles. An absolute work of art in pearl white. My second BMW, the first was a 1996 RT that needed more than I could give so we were not together long. I wish I had a riding partner for the upcoming riding season, but don't really mind going it alone. Have only done a few long trips on my Honda ST1100 and Kawasaki Concours. The Northwest is calling my name, I'm based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hi Scott, first off, congrats on your "new" acquisition, low miles to boot and in pearl white which I'm sure is beautiful. Thank you so much for watching the entire build video, so you get my confidence in taking her on a lengthy shake-down ride. I do like going with a riding buddy just for security in case of unfortunate circumstances or a mechanical breakdown. So much easier to have someone that can get parts, tools, etc. The Nortwest has been long on my list to ride too as well. Ride safe!

You got one of the early ones! Good for you! When was it built? Out of curiosity, do you have a decal that matches your bikes Serial number in the fairing?

Hey Andy: looks like an epic trip. Thanks for sharing it. Quick question about your RS: are the handlebars original and in the original position? They look like they’ve been modified… Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, sorry for the late reply, I was at the 100th Anniversary Of BMW Motorcycles Celebration. The handlebars on my RS are not stock, I used K75S bars instead. The stock ones seemed a bit too radical to me. Thanks for watching and the comment!
