Today, we take the Japanese aluminum foil ball challenge using a Pringles container to make a shiny solid sphere of aluminum using only standard foil wrap. Here is my shiny tin foil ball ...

That's awesome! Hoping you could answer a few questions I have. 1) How hard is the final ball of aluminum? Is it still easily prone to dents or is it fairly solid? 2) How long did it take from start to finish? 3) How much foil did you end up using? Thanks so much

1) Fairly solid, feels compact and cold to the hand. Smashing it hard on the floor would still cause a dent though 2) About 8 hours in 30 minutes increments. The difficulty was to decide when to stop cause it only becomes better 3) The ball weights 80g. All foil used was reused from take-away food wrapping Could definitely be made better by compacting it more which would give a finer structure for better polishing

@@TheLabOtomy Thanks so much for the response and your project is even more awesome now knowing it was made from used foil that would have ended in the trash 👍

I wonder if putting it in a vibrating stainless steel bowl, and letting it bounce around for a few weeks, would work.
