As someone who's going to London for the first time, I found this incredibly helpful. Having a quick guideline like this definitely helps ease some of the traveler's anxiety for newcomers. Many thanks!

Hi, I noticed when you boarded the train you didn't allow everyone to get off the train before you got on, normally most Brits will stand either side of the doors until everyone has exited, it just makes life a bit easier. Probably a lot of people using that particular station are foreign. It's not a big deal but maybe some of your viewers might bear it in mind if they visiting the UK.

Thank you. Useful video. We are going to London next month and it will be my first time. My hotel is close to Paddington Station. From Heathrow Airport (using the tube) where do I change the train to get to get to Paddington Station?

At Earl''s Court, change for the District (green) to Edgware Road, or get out at Hammersmith, cross the road, take the Circle/H&C lines to Paddington
@seanchitson8287
@seanchitson8287 3 жыл бұрын
Personally I would have changed to the District line at Hammersmith or Barons Courtas you dont have many stairs and escalators and I found it does not get as crowded as the Piccadilly line and you just walk straight to the other platform about 5 metres to change trains.

If you have a contactless debit or credit card you can use that instead of an Oyster card. Oyster Cards have a daily cap, that is once you have paid for a daily card you are not charged any more. If you use either a debit or credit card, it also has a daily cap, but it also has a weekly cap.
@strangep1

Absolutely. This is a very useful option which is easily missed and just as cheap as Oyster. I use it all the time when in London.

As a Brit, don’t get an Oyster card anymore if ur out of zone 6 they don’t work but if ur in it just use ur contactless debit card or Apple/google pay

Should have mentioned: •Tapping in as well as out. •Topping off in case you need more money added. •How to get a refund if you put too much money on the Oyster Card. •Amount left on card being displayed on screen near yellow circle as you tap in/out. •Or using the same machines used to buy Oyster Cards to check remaining card balance. •Make sure you have the Oyster Card ready as you go in/out or face the wrath of everyone behind you. •Using Oyster Cards to pay for DLR, trams and buses.

I never see videos of people with multiple bags using the tube. Is there a lift?
@MuchoHop
@MuchoHop Жыл бұрын
Oh yes, there are people with multiple bags, especially on the lines connecting with the airports. Normally, there is a lift at some point on the platform. Check the signs. The lift is usually reserved for people who have difficulty walking or with a baby carriage, etc.

Tourists and visitors beware! The Heathrow express train is a very expensive rip off. Look for the signs for the ‘underground (commonly called ‘the tube’) as explained in this video. Definitely get an Oystercard too, which can be cashed in when you leave.

Thank you, you are always so kind. I also wish you a very Happy New Year and may 2018 bring you many fun rides! I have watched a few of your videos and subscribed! They are so real-like, with the sound and your steady hand (my shots are jumpy and abrupt since I am usually walking as I film, LOL, not the best technique). Very cool to "experience" the ride in your videos. Thanks again!

Try to get a flight into Gatwick instead of Heathrow. Its smaller and easier to navigate and the train to Victoria station is only 30-45 minutes. I an anal so I ordered my oyster card and had it sent from London, ( to NYC where I live) its expensive but when you get to London you don't have to wait on any lines with your suitcase and you don't have to fumble.
