I had Japanese kids stay with us when my kids were young. We asked hiroaki if he liked tacos. He said he loved "tako" so we took him to tacobell and got some tacos for the kids. He said this no tako. I then had to learn what "tako was in Japanese, and that poor kid had been so disappointed.

kind of reminds me of Dutch "poffertjes" (mini pancakes that are made in a pan that looks a lot like a takoyaki pan), only we don't put tako in ours, we put powdered sugar and a little bit of butter on ours

@@lucasxrain yeah, just without the filling, ours are just plain pancake batter, and then you add butter and powdered sugar or syrup on top after baking them (though powdered sugar is more traditional than syrup). if you are ever somewhere where they sell Dutch food and they have them, I would reccomend you try them, they might not be a 5 star cullinary masterpiece, but they sure are a nice sweet treat every once in a while.

I was wondering if there is any food that are forbidden to your kids? I mean, is there food that you were not given to Jordan when he was around 3 years old that he can eat now? I don't remember my mother saying to me "no you can't eat that, it is for adults". Asking by curiosity 😊
