I knew from a past Idol season that McKenna wouldnt get past top 5 and it has nothing to with her. My favorite Idol ever was Lacey Kaye Booth, who finished top 5. Her and McKenna both have that Sultry, smokey, rasp and cry that just cuts right through ya and makes u feel every lyric and puts u in awe of their abilities to do so. The American Idol audience and voters in majority always, undoubtedly vote for country and the loud, belting singers. For me, they are a dime a dozen. Talented, yes.. but theres an abundance of both. The Mckenna's of music are a rarity and when u hear someone like that sing, u never forget and want more. Shes amazing and the first contestant since 2019 to make me feel their songs like very few artists can... and im talking well known artists, grammy winners and millionaires that don't do that for me. Its probably gonna be another 5 years or more until someone cuts through to me like that.
