Hello everyone, and welcome to Episode 5 of Tales From The Press Box, from Covering Liverpool. I know it's been a while since the last episode, so forgive me. Those pesky Reds playing so many games, eh?!
Anyway, in this episode, I speak with Neil Atkinson, co-founder and CEO of The Anfield Wrap, one of the largest fan-led media channels in the world of football.
You'll all be familiar with Neil's work as host, contributor and writer with TAW, I'm sure, but here he tells us his story, and that of The Anfield Wrap. How did it come to be created? Who were the driving forces behind it? And just how has it managed to grow into the empire it has become?
Neil also talks about his history with the Spirit of Shankly, his study years and his days working a number of other jobs, outside of football. He explains how important those days were, and discusses his hopes and ambitions for football media, both fan and mainstream, going forward.
It's a fascinating listen, and as Neil said afterwards, we probably could have done another couple of hours too. Maybe we will in the future, who knows?
