I believe Klopp doesn't just resign because it's the right decision for himself but also because it's the best for liverpool. Klopp is so humble and doesn't regard himself as too important and believes he can pass on the reigns now and believes in the people of lfc.

I'm the same age as Jurgen and have run out of energy at my job too! 🤣 The desire to retire is a damn real emotion...time stands for no one. Please just thank the man from the bottom of our hearts and wish him health and happiness.

I'm a bit older and the freedom to get up when you want do what you feel like doing is good, but after a habit of a lifetime we still need something that gives us purpose and that's the no 1 hurdle to get over. The amount of drive we have to get things done lessens with age, adapting to this is a challenge, for me, probably you, and even probably Jurgen. I hope Jurgen gets the Germany job if and when he chooses, I think it would be a wind down but still a pinnacle to his stellar career

I do not see a completely retirement,of Jürgen Klopp,but beeing a English Premiere League Manager is a real demanding Job that is to much for him i guess. You might have read that Klopp builds a House in Wiesbaden(Sonnenberg) , that is strategically good choice not to far (40km) from German Football FA Headquarters and Not to far from Mainz next City across the River

When Shanks retired we never thought we’d be in Paisley dreamland and win everything. He will take a year off and then become the coach of the German national team. Him and his wife have built a multimillion dream home in the Black Forest.

Klopp is not linked that much to the black Forrest, actually He builds a House not to far from the DFB HQ (Germany Football A..) and Mainz . It is more in the Frankfurt area. I guess Pep Guardiola knows that Klopp builds a House in close area to German FA and there for He predicts Klopp will work again after a Long sabbatical

Not just fun but immense pride being Liverpool fan on a morale stand on doing things right , but also watching super higher pressing football, with manager with so much integrity and intelligence
@samwize28
@samwize28 5 ай бұрын
Weren't Liverpool fans desperate for FSG to sell to Qatar just 14 months ago though? Hard to claim a 'morale' high ground when you were so keen to sell out. Also Klopp and integrity doesn't fit quite well the way he makes excuses for losses and barks at officials etc.
@jamesg2090
@jamesg2090 5 ай бұрын
All managers bark at referees. Football fans across the whole country agree that the standards of officiating in the game are appalling. The moral high ground comes from being able to compete at the highest levels of the game for the last few years whilst spending far less than rival teams, or worse, resorting deliberately breaking the rules and self sponsoring etc etc. It shows with the right people in charge you can still compete.
@samwize28
@samwize28 5 ай бұрын
@@jamesg2090 so then why was the majority of the liverpool fanbase so desperate for Qatari ownership when FSG publicly mentioned the possibility of selling? Do you see the contradiction? Also Klopp cant have integrity when he's constantly blaming everything else when he loses. Other managers put their hands up, which is true integrity IMO. And also not all clubs/managers have openly written to the Prem to imply conspiracy and ask for games to be replayed. Only Liverpool have. I could go back further into the clubs history if you want to talk about morales by the way. A certain t shirt comes to mind straight off the bat. All clubs are shady and are imperfect when it comes to morality. Its impossible to be squeeky clean with the money thats involved. To claim to be high and mighty is laughable. But i will give you that LFC are 'better' than City due to their blatant cheating - if that was the main point/comparison you were making. On that we agree.
@jamesg2090
@jamesg2090 5 ай бұрын
I would say it was a vocal minority of fans in the FSG out brigade. Most sensible supporters recognise that whilst not perfect, FSG have put Liverpool on a very stable platform. They've invested in additional stadium capacity, new training ground and revenues have grown massively compared with ten years ago. Liverpool are now right up there with the biggest clubs generating over £550m a year. Liverpool used to lag way behind United and others on this. The club has never requested that the spurs game be replayed. That said the 'controversy' involved in that game was clearly different from the kind of subjective mistakes that referees make all the time. The correct process was not followed when a legitimate goal had been scored. Its not the same as Arteta complaining about subjective decisions in the Newcastle game. A recent game in Belgium will be replayed for a similar mis application of the rules. The error in the spurs game could end up costing Liverpool the title.
@jamesg2090
@jamesg2090 5 ай бұрын
Ironically after the debacle after the Spurs game, Arteta and Kompany both said words to the effect of "the referees have a tough job and we must try to support them" rather than actually getting behind Liverpool and making it clear that the clubs won't tolerate such unprofessionalism. Then within weeks both managers were calling referees for everything because they didn't agree with subjective decisions that went against them in certain games. Blatent tribalism.

I think the club is building very positively for the future. How can ANYONE involved in football not feel a sense of loss when a character the size of Jurgen steps down? In musical terms, we got to see & hear 'The Beatles' again... and what a gig it's been so far. Can't wait for the Encore. 😉

Remember klopps first presser he said something like history is only a base for us, its not allowed that you take the history in your backpack, on those words and once klopp walks out the gates at the end of the season with hopefully a sack full of trophies and the greatest send off possible the klopp era has to be parked and its a new chapter. If the supporters can channel this then i think alonso given the time and support will be a fantastic manager for us, up the reds youll never walk alone.

Regarding the Pep Ljinders' potential as the head manager, I think it's interesting to look at Arteta. He sat behind a fantastic manager for a while, got to learn from him, and eventually (with a lot of time and resources) has got a team doing quite well. I know Pep didn't succeed in his first stint trying management, but I just have to believe that Klopp wouldn't have kept him around for as long as he had if he wasn't contributing significantly to the club during the period where we won absolutely everything. As for the show, you and Copey are sound and I enjoy tuning in for both the Liverpool stuff and the non-footie topics.

Paul Cope, philosopher king, is in his kitchen at home. "Good morning love. Can i have, and i've referenced this before, a cup of tea? Also, and this is something we talk about all the time, can i have, j'know, a piece of toast? I've got some opinions on this that you won't have heard elsewhere, and we talk about this a lot, the weather looks quite nice out today. I often think about this, and it's that thing we always talk about, j'know how i take two sugars, which is a lot when you stop to think about it."

When we appointed Klopp we needed a manager with a point to prove and a chip on his shoulder, and Jurgen ticked both of those boxes big time. He got us, and the club. We are in a completely different place now as we are at the top of our game. At this moment I am absolutely clueless of who, or even, what type of manager we need as they broke the mould with Jurgen.

Robbo one of the few delights of being older is I witnessed Shanks (2 seasons) Paisley (9 seasons) Fagan (2 seasons) Kenny (6 seasons) those years were fucking brilliant league in 1973, Newcastle in 1974 FA Cup, St Etienne, Wembley 1978, Paris 1981, Rome 1984 Heysel and the less said about the better, Kenny winning the double in 1986, winning the league in 1988 beating Everton in FA Cup in 1989, winning league in 1990, 19 trophies in 17 years, I was spoilt but the best thing back then the vast majority were scousers home and away one of the reasons was you had st trophies I think it is that will never ever beaten, just brilliant , one of the biggest plus points the vast majority of fans were scousers mainly due to standing and the cheap price, great times now your paying a grand for a season tickets and the times I’ve been lately you just don’t hear scouse accents, but the memories I have are undeniably brilliant and will be with me for ever.

Great show lads. I think we probably have a verbal agreement with somebody which would explain Klopp’s official announcement three months after he told the owners. This would make it less likely to be Xabi due to his lack of experience. If I had to guess I’d say it might be Nagelsmann, but let’s be honest, anybody we get will be a step down.

I'm surprised that virtually nobody in the media has noted that Klopp has said, pretty much from day 1, that he wouldn't have the fuel tank to last 15+ years like the other past greats. I could be wrong but I think 9 years was even what he quoted as his maximum stint. I've been seeing this day coming for a while now. He's gradually looked more and more subdued with every year. Let's not be Man Utd and shit the bed when our boss goes (which history shows, they do every time). Let's be Liverpool in the 70s and let the party carry on.

When I was hypothetically thinking about a Klopp successor a year or 2 ago, Ljinders would have been my first choice. Think it’s now Alonso. Gareth couldn't believe. Neither did I. I had to check the date was not April 1.

My one word for the show would be bullshitless even though that's not a real word. I think whoever comes in needs to understand and build their own relationship with the fanbase and respect what Klopp has built. Had our new lads not settled as quickly as they have I wonder whether he would have thought about it but stayed until the rebuild was complete, he made a joke about it and it got me thinking. Either way it's been a privilege to have been a part of his reign

I’m not surprised, was thinking the day before the announcement how relentless the press conferences were. Double edged sword of being in all competitions. I’ve taken much of his management period for granted. About to discover how foolish that was.

of all the contenders who can walk in Jurgens shoes, Pep L is the one man I think can do it. You only have to watch him in the league cup press conference and see he's his own man and he knows what he wants to do.
