I think it's the remastered version, I got it on Steam.

This is the GameCube version played on Dolphin with HD texture pack, anti aliasing, widescreen and upscaled to 1080p.

Colette was going to be infused with Martel, who was bound to the Great Seed. If Mithos' plan had worked then the Great Seed which was the only thing keeping the two worlds together would have been lost, the worlds would separate, mana would be exhausted, and the land would die. It would have been the end of both worlds who were already competing for the little mana the great seed could provide. Colette was born through arranged marriages to be a vessel for Martel, without her Mithos couldn't complete his plan so it was imperative to save her for the sake of the worlds. They all believed in Lloyd as the most capable of defeating Mithos because of his strength he showed throughout their journey. So they left it in his hands because they were on a time crunch. If they didn't they likely would have been too late anyway. Also they were being caught one at a time, they probably didn't expect Lloyd would be alone right up until Genis. (who got caught in an inescapable trap for him) Presea told Lloyd to stay back so he didn't end up getting potentially caught the same way she did by leftover tree roots. Genis couldn't escape because as he said he lacks the physical reflexes after casting magic to be able to move quickly enough to get out of that trap before it regenerated, otherwise he would have just done it the first time. (also despite looking like basic attacks as they said it took the combined strength of all they had to break through, Genis likely couldn't do it alone)

​@@ajregalia1334In summary, they would be done for if they fail regardless, and their choice got down to either "take more time to make sure they're more people so they can win", or "take less time to have a bigger chance at arriving in time to have at least a slight chance to win" and, in desperate times, they went with the latter. Thanks for this. I really dislike when I can't get things to make sense 😩

Regal has to be my favorite. Tho both genius and presea words definitely hit home.

Thou shall not pass. I'm not sure, these sacrifices didn't hit as much compared to other jrpgs, if there's one that actually showed some feelings it should be Sheenas as she actually falls down. The others, screen just fades =/.

@@BuffMaister I can understand tho Regal comparing the pain of losing alicia to potentially losing Colette just hits home too much. Especially since Crispin Freeman (Regal's voice actor) happen to play this pain of lose role across a lot of his characters.

The one where Collete was sacrificed from the start without them knowing and ended up being an entire journey to save save her back...lol~

No they all come back to join you in the ending but it's absolutely terrifying when these scenes happen
