@@JustinHiryu If you really played the game, you should know- not even Mikleo or Sorey himself was sure as to what might happen to him after he sleeps and bonds with Maotelus. So why would Rose make any false assurances that Sorey will comeback someday or that he's not gonna die? The other reason people hate this dlc is that Gamingbolt already labeled the game as "terrible" thinking the dlc milks fans by charging them a LOT to play the dlc as an essential part of the main story line. The idiocy it published in an online article is more embarrassing than any false gossips about this game. The last and probably MOST obvious reason is that Alisha fanboys imagine Sorey and Alisha were an item- with the ridiculous "homophobes" joining the mob and hating on any "gay" nuances they imagine makes any game bad (as if- straight shippers aren't more toxic with their crazy waifu fetishes). Seeing Rose x Alisha instead burst their bubble (though they only have to blame themselves for expecting cliche boy x girl pairings/fanservice everywhere).

Oh please, false assurances is the Tales series bread and butter and many "false assurances" are plans that end up working in games throughout the series. I'm not gonna convince you to like Rose- but if one battle can make you hate a character- then you probably didn't like her much to begin with. Again, I'm just here to give my own opinion. It's not like you have to even read this comment if it makes you feel bad that Rose will be defended by this fan who believes in her. (I edited this comment just to add this sentence in case some "distressed" Alisha fanboy gets triggered- again.) Tbh, what I'm more concerned about is how the crazy Alisha hype and the false controversy fans kept harping online non-stop sounded "very" desperate. For me, there's something sinister about a (degenerate?) "group" desperately trying to "convince" the public to take Alisha's side. I think in gaming it's normal to use any stupid strategy to make people hate even bunny girls that got into the wrong costume- that kind of "petty." So I wouldn't be surprised if Rose gets hate for the stupidest reasons as well. For me, Rose is one of the better written female characters in Tales. She may have her rough edges- but her personality is certainly more dynamic and pivotal than Alisha's- since it was Rose who took Sorey's burden of "killing what cannot be saved" when Sorey wasn't ready to do that. It's one of the better reasons why Rose is more important to the story than Alisha since Alisha wouldn't have been able to take up Sorey's burden- even if temporarily- given her social standing as "royalty" who shouldn't even be seen running around Hyland, a rival kingdom, with a Shepherd who's supposed to remain politically neutral. More than that, Rose's "unsheltered" view of social corruption as something beyond political reforms is more realistic. And it's quite contrary to Alisha's naive approach- which sees politics as the best remedy. It's obvious from the beginning that Alisha's concept of peace was entirely political and blind-sided as well. She believes everything has a political solution- something neither Rose nor Sorey shares. If I were in Rose's shoes, I'd consider slapping Alisha tenfold as a tremendous waste of energy. I kinda feel Rose's frustration. Alisha's just... annoyingly thick-headed and conceitedly dense to presume that Sorey could go around forever "purifying hellions" and being "nice" to a lower-rank princess who needs a power boost. That aside, it makes me wonder, how come boys punching each other for the silliest reasons- like petty rivalries and jealousies- pass as "normal" while girls slapping each other is seen as childish? Rose and Alisha didn't have to act "mature" all the time- much like even adult male characters always seem to be funnier when they talk and act like idiots. Even childishness among women is rated as stupid, but among adult men it's "almost" cute. Really.. the double standards.~~

I highly doubt they'll make a 2nd game though, since their making another tales game like you said. It's just that the ending bugs me... it says Sorey will revive in a few years or in a few centuries and I was expecting a dlc to see his revival. I wonder if this new Anime their doing... "Tales of Zestiria X" is gonna dig deeper in that detail and show us his revival. If not, all well..... I'll just continue to play the tales games.

I think there will be a Tales of Zestiria 2 for sure. One point is the open end of the DLC chapter. Besides we have Tales Of Berseria that takes place a hundred years before TOZ. I already found a few similarities that give additional information such as the appearance of Ednas Brother Aisen/Eisen. My last point is the Anime that we will get in about 1 week. They aren't just celebrating the 20th anniversary. Obviously it is also some kind of promotion for Tales of Zestiria. Why would they do that? Kinda suspicous isn't it ? :D

oh.. so the next game is a prequel to this one... then.. maybe it just might close some gaps. in the ending I'm guessing that Sorey got revived or reborn because after Mikleo falls into the hole, a Shepherd catches (which must be either Sorey or a new Shepherd). other than that the game was pretty good to watch.

Jun Kurosu Since the lip flaps are unable to be read, that was purposefully left up to interpretation. I assumed it was something like "goodbye rose," which would prompt that reaction tbh. A confession would have had her taken aback. Either way the writer for the game has confirmed that the relationships between Sorey and Rose/Alisha are platonic, because the typical m/f relationship did not match how they wanted the story to go. And, situationally, a relationship between them would be inspiring impurity in Sorey (he implied sexual desire as a catalyst for this). So, no.

I don't think its far fetched that he had feelings for the two the reason why the writer probably said it was platonic was because of the current situation and how fast the story progressed. plus it isn't impure to fall in love or have feelings even the former shepherd had those the only thing that went wrong was how he dealt with it which allowed for impurity, he was more in tune in being shepherd when he had a family. anyways the story was lacking and their relationships too; I was really disappointed with how fast the story went but with no real character development.
