People who played Tales of Zestiria first and then proceeded to play Tales of Berseria: Man, this guy is so cool, why did he have to meet such a sad ending?

I played Zestiria first and having Eizen become my favorite character in Berseria turned into torture to me. Zestiria is ok, Berseria is great, and playing Zestiria before Berseria makes Berseria even better imo.

I didnt realise this at first but just played berseria to the point eizen see edna's illusion. It all clicked together and now feels really sad everytime seeing eizen in tob

That's why the game only nudges you about this after the Tiamat fight. That'salso the point where you know Seigfried can purify dragons (since Sorey planned to use it so purify Maotelus itself), but that the number of uses was limited. You had to choose who to save basically, hence why Zaveid basically said "you CAN search for more bullets but I will still just go ahead and try to kill him while you are wasting your time". That's because Zaveid spent centuries searching for the bullets he already had (the last one of which was used by Dezel), so Sorey, a human mortal, was not going to miraculously find some bullets in a few decades where it took centuries for Zaveid to get the stock he had.

@@LeonGun8 Let's also take in consideration, how Sorey was essentially put to sleep for who knows how long (considering Rose died with a still young looking mikleo, and sorey's resurrection happens with an adult mikleo, we can guess that it took more than a 100 years at least), so purifying a dragon is a task that takes too much time.

@@Alucard_FahrenheitTepes Malaks live for thousands of years, so Eizen being like 2000 years old (in this game) is not weird. Magilou is dead. There is a scene in Zestiria with the grave of a mayvin and it's implied to be Magilou'd grave. Regarding Laphicet, I'm pretty sure he still acts as the fifth Empyrean and will likely do so for virtually all of eternity. We don't know what Velvet's state is but she's also still likely in stasis with her brother turned Empyrean. Eleanor was a regular human, abilities aside, so she's dead. Rokurou should be dead too. I don't know if daemons have a life span of some kind but I feel like with how war hungry he is, he probably died fighting someone at some stage. We don't know his current status though, just that he's likely also passed.

@Sakurei1 ok thanks for the nostalgic story aftermath, kinda makes berseria that much more sad yet nostalgic to know what happens to their story. Cheers I never played Zestria it came put before berseria so was weird why berseria is prequel but not unusual to happen. I never liked tales or Arise It felt boring and uninteresting in comparison to xillia 1 and berseria I still need to complete xillia 1 and eventually play and complete xillia 2. I kinda wish there was a similar game to both xillia and berseria. I liked berseria special attack mechanics, arise just confused and dulled Down the mechanics to simple yet too vast that my memory can't remember the attacks. anyways thanks again dood.

Why does it get so much hate?

@@buttertoast1146 Basically, in my opinion : -Alisha being heavily advertised to create her fanbase before going "PSYCHE she's DLC so gimme more money lolololol" -Camera being drunk in combat (and not controllable). Personally, I got tired of it zooming in Sorey's ass. -Dungeons have a somewhat lazy design, sometimes have just palette swaps to make it look different. -"Open" world maps are gigantic but the game doesn't do anything interesting out of it, except making travels longer. -Out of the 4 active party members, 2 are mandatory (Sorey and Rose). -As if the previous point wasn't enough, if Rose is not in the party and you have 3 characters, the 3rd one cannot participate in combats unless you switch the 2nd one out. -I heard some people saying that Armatization made combats braindead easy at late game, but I can't confirm that, since I didn't finish the game.

Purifying a Dragon is possible with Siegfried, though the bullet is no more. This is just an optional quest and Eizen isn't yet dead in the main storyline of Zestiria, hence the anime didn't killed him off.

the anime is shit, in the game they clearly tell you that it was possible to purify a dragon with siegfried but it was a still a theory at that point and couldn't take a risk because beating heldalf was far more important than saving eizen with uncertainty. the anime was just "oh just share the malevolence with us and believe in friendship" that work things out.

Vhanzy That's correct. Heldalf was more important since Maotelus was sealed inside him. That's also why at the night before the final battle, even Edna said herself that she'll wait for Sorey after dealing with Heldalf first before his brother. Even in the shitty anime, Edna said this again. Thus, the story of Zestiria is incomplete. And the importance of Seigfried was cast off in the anime. Like fk....That's the name of the first Oracle/Shepherd.

Vhanzy Don't worry, there are more people who hated the anime even in the JP fan base. Zestiria's fan base is divided into gamers and anime watchers. In the escort title "Tales of Link" they released the anime units with Sorey's new armatus and Alisha's armatized form. A lot of JP players complained in their twitter calling it a disgrace to the game. Most of the hates went towards Alisha. But the irony though... Before, they were complaining as to why Alisha left the party in the game. In the anime, she was forced as a main heroine and people still hated it, lol. xD Well only Alisha fanboys/fangirls were so happy about the anime.

That one last bullet was used by Dezel when Rose was in danger and Sorey and co. were in a pickle, so at the moment of Zaveid joining the party, Siegfried can't do a thing.

I think you guys are getting the wrong idea. Zaveid is reminding him that he can't use Seigfried, he has no bullets left and the bullets he can use have to be used on the Lord of Calamity or else he will fail. He can't waste them on Eizen. Sorey says,in vain, that he could still scour the land for more bullets or a new way to do so but Zaveid, casually reminds him that he will just try to kill Eizen while they vainly search for a non-existing way to save him. This is because Zaveid and Eizen already made an Oath, that he would kill EIzen if he ever became a threat to Edna (which he did). In other words, the whole conversation in the Inn is just Zaveid casually pushing Sorey into the conclusion that he can't do anything but kill him.

@LeonGun8 I just finished Zestiria, so I think I get it; his oath was to kill Eizen, not to purify him by any means. It was a bottled-up thought for both Edna and Zaveid for hundreds of years, with a conflicting decision between the two; until this point, when Edna buckled up, gave in to Zaveid's oath and decided to put an end to him against her wish... because she always loved her brother dearly.

Which is one of the changes I can't stand in the anime. In the anime they go with the sunshines and rainbows approach that he's still a little concious of himself even as a dragon and leave it at that.In the game Edna has to confront her own feelings and put to rest the husk of her former brother, as much as it pains her. It's a lot more poignant. The anime just left it as "eh, maybe he got better who cares". The game's scene gets even double the impact after Berseria when you see what she's referencing, as she's crying about the fact she left to join the pirates and never returned (In berseria Phoenix tells Eizen that Edna would constantly cry from her loneliness while Eizen was a coward who could never be outright truthful with her).

there are more differences between game and anime. Like Alisha can transform into kamui in Anime, while in the game she can't.

He killed Zaveids dragon wife and the reaper's curse made the malevolence corrupt him, that's where Zaveids oath "if i become a dragon, kill me"

Killing Zaveid's girlfriend had nothing to do with why he became a dragon. He stopped living with Edna because he realizes, it was way too late, with the amount of malevolence that is inside him. During the event of Berseria, Velvet actually gets concerned about Eizen at the end of the game. Even Eizen is aware, it was possible that he could turn into a dragon during the final boss fight. Which, he encourages Velvet that he knows, if it did happen, they should kill him. It was because of the lord of calamity.

yes, Berseria happens thousands of years before Zestiria. Artorius in Berseria is the first Shepherd.
