I got it after I was ambushed and killed by an orc that betrayed me. Recruited him he was lvl 30 but got all the way past 60 and became overlord after that. I felt like talion was speaking for me lol

In the first game up until the betrayal in the sequel, Talion and Celebrimbor were practically brothers bound in death. I missed the banter they would have😂🥺The love/hate relationship they shared was wholesome at times.

@@ikigaofficial i have a theroy on why he sudenly betrayed that bond, even if talions action was hasty, in the past celebrimbor never went away even after a disagrement of such scale, but with the new ring and celebrimbor once having worn the one ring and having parsaly joind with souron in the first game, celebrimbor was tainted, and the power and the lust to overthorw sauron and take his place became to grate, you can feel it in how clebrimbor talks over the game still him but diminised somehow, less clear, less of that snark and banter, insted of trying to presuvade and talk to talion like he did in the first game every time they died, he almost seems dramaticly angry and almost comands talion to keep going insted of talking to him like he used to, i think the ring and saurion really changed him and this betrail was sadly a part of that coruption, the 2 dead once made hole became seperate and darkness sadly split what was once borthers in arms and suffering

scarlett how I just so wish the story didn’t go like this especially because I don’t feel like that was the original intention of the game. There’s just so many things that just make that seem true, like how lazy the shadow wars originally was and all of act 4 in general, talion used to have no quotes and such and the fact that they don’t let you swap back because they didn’t built the game with those systems in mind (because it was never supposed to be that way?) the fact they still call you bright lord but also have new quotes at the same time, ringwraith has no new animations to it at all, just all these things man and the footage from the alpha trailer made it seem like there was supposed to be a bigger focus on celebrimbor and Talion as one because of the hammer execution and the olog execution on the overlord that was never in the full game even when he plants the flag they shout “Seregost is MINE” it just seemed like they originally had the story not go down the path it did and I just wonder what could’ve been...

@@SSlash (I know I’m late but I know a thing or two about storytelling and have an idea why the game ended how it did) However first off, I feel inclined to assume that the seregost Olog was actually just an early rendition of Bruz which they used so they didn’t give away his twist betrayal. Secondly, I think the game ended how it did because they wanted two boss fights (witch-king and Sauron) and they wanted to do it in a way that made slightly more sense ( with both fights happening concurrently so both big bads were pinned down and couldn’t help the other). Also, they needed spectacle which sometimes means that you need to sacrifice story (which is unfortunate, but is sometimes necessary). So I see why people are upset but as someone studying game design and who knows too much useless garbage, I say that they didn’t exactly do things wrong. Although this is far from the definitive fact just my opinion.

Talion: "I grow weaker with each year I wear Isildur's Ring, but my mission remains the same. Hold Mordor" One of the best quotes in my opinion, shows how strong and brave Talion is. That despite his being betrayed and weakening and the corruption slowly swallowing him whole, he still finds the strength to keep fighting, with a simple goal to hold them back.

I love the subtlety of Talion's story. He knows his war will become a myth, and the games we play [Shadow of Mordor/War] already reflect that Myth. We already see this in SoM where Urfæl and Acharn change when completing the side missions, where they are reforged to be more Elven rather than Gondorian. Even tho Talion most likely fought through each game in his Ranger outfit [Which he may have repaired some time after Mordor, judging that you have to buy the Captain skin]. We treat this game as non-canon, due to many canonical contradictions... but that's the point of a myth. It is meant to be unbelievable and fiction, a story... but what if there was a Wraith and Undead Ranger fighting while Gandalf was chilling, Saruman Corrupting, Radagast.... Radagasting, and the Blue Wizards traveling. No one would know, apart from the Uruks and Orcs that survived and witnessed Talion; we can only honour the myth, and honour this badass ranger.

Thanks for sharing. The fabrication of Talion's plot and his character so he can relate to the LOTR universe is tip topped I have to give it that. Celebrimbor character alteration is also good too. Well, to begin its the canon from Tolkien and movies made by hollywood that brings us to the game so its relevancy between canon and game fabrication can't be too farfetched else everything both SoM and SoW created would crumbled. In regard to Myth or fiction, I mean if we watch the show, we play the game for sure we're onboard for its fiction and enjoyment. I doubt there would be a player who played the game but hating its fiction or one who played it without having the tiniest bit knowledge of LOTR 😅

@@ikigaofficial I like to imagine that, during the 2nd Age, when Celebrimbor died, his spirit didn't immediately go to the Halls of Mandos, but instead sought a ranger for aid. And as the story dragged on, it slowly became more and more of a myth and more and more of a Legend, before finally the 3rd age comes by which point all details are lost or blurred. Causing some mythical elements such as Isildur and Helm Hammerhand being members of the Nine, while keeping some things more canonical such as the Numenorian King being a wraith.

This quote is one of my personal favorites. It shows just how lost Talion is starting to become, and at the same time it shows how much Celebrimbor NEEDS Talion to ensure the Bright Lord's ascension. That particular quote hit me hard every time I committing to orc hunting as I'm repeating the same process over and over again but knowing that Talion's going through the process even longer than me thus I'm calmer. Ironically enough Celeb was the one who forgot his real purpose whichs to defeat the Dark Lord...Not replacing him by dominating him to become another Lord 😅

I love these quotes so much. They show so much about the main characters, as well as the weakness of man compared to elves. Talion sounds so defeated, but Celebrimbor keeps him going until he's no longer needed. And then when Talion is alone, he has to remind himself what he's doing it and why. He misses Celebrimbor. (He even raises undead orcs which will NEVER betray him.) He was always just a man, and I am happy for the ending he got. If they make a sequel for Eltariel, I hope they choose to let Talion go. I hope he found his peace.

Interestingly enough, on my first playthrough I got the dialogue at 0:50 after dying to the black gate Uruk who dual wielded ranger blades who was taunting talion about his family and the events of the black gate. And I got this dialogue like I said before and it really hits you in the feels. It surprisingly left me stunned

At first, he wanted to save his familiy and HELP Middle Earth, not dominate it. In the Bright Lord DLC, he says "The Dark Lord has the One Ring. If I do not stand against him, Middle Earth will fall." But even the noblest of characters can't resist the power of the Rings, like Talion and Celebrimbor. I for one don't hate Celebrimbor at ALL. His so-called "betrayal" is completely justified. But to be honest, I like the "corrupted" version of Celebrimbor the most. The best type of protagonist, imo, is a ruthless, power-hungry antihero like the Blue Grandpa. That's why I like playing in act 2.

What I'm saying is that Celebrimbor's "betrayal" is justified because he was corrupted by the One Ring, just as Talion's joining of the Nine was justified because HE was corrupted by Isildur's Ring. But maybe I should've used a better term than "justified". I'm just saying that it's not his fault and he doesn't deserve as much hate as everyone is giving him. People don't put the pieces together. They just automatically jump to the conclusion that Celebrimbor is inherently evil.

Sometimes you really do need to hear these quotes. Sometimes you get so close to capturing a fort, only to die to the Overlord, and then get so pissed off/bummed about it. Celebrimor sometimes helps. Thanks for uploading.

This is why I like Talion and his story. Sure its not canon at all..but every war has unsung heroes whose deeds allowed those known heroes to accomplish what made them legendary. Talion and Celebrimbor held the dark forces at bay, falling to them in the end but bought middle earth time to prepare.

Yeah I saw the comment, luckily your list was comprehensive enough to make up for the lines of dialogue that got cut short for me.. Some orc was screaming about something when they were talking. I'd argue that Eltariel would actually make a good protagonist. A lot of people didn't particularly like Talion until the end of act 3, anyway, which is a whole game and another three quarters of the sequel. Eltariel also seemed to grow a little over the course of the main game and her dlc. She started as a blind follower of Galadriel, grew to question her as Talion and Celebrimbor achieved feats she previously thought impossible, culminating with how they shattered Sauron's hold over Isildur. So she sided with Celebrimbor in hopes of destroying Sauron and freeing the Nazgul for good. Over the course of the game, though, I believe her attitude towards Talion changed drastically enough for her to question her beliefs and by his fall, I believe there was a genuine friendship between the two. This, combined with whatever happened to her over the course of the trilogy (in this timeline) may lead to a redemption arc. Not for Eltariel, but for the Elven race as a whole. In many fantasy tales, most elves are depicted as cold and aloof beings with a distinct superiority complex. Eltariel's growth as a character would honestly, in my opinion, make for an enjoyable story. And anyway, as long as they further improved the core gameplay, the story wouldn't matter too much.

Westy Exactly. Just as we saw Talion progress from Mordor to War. We should get one with Eltariel showing us the kind of obstacles that she encounters, which in turn leads to character progression, in order to find where Celebrimbor ran off to.

I think they were friends. I just don't think they ever fully trusted each other, given that Eltariel betrayed him and sided with Celebrimbor and again tried to kill him when she thought he'd turned completely. And she knows he is constantly fighting Sauron's influence from Isildur's ring and could have fallen at any moment.

I hated him all the way from the first game. It took The Tower, in all his tyranny (and as open mockery to the ring maker) to reveal to Talion that all he was to Celembrimbor was a physical host. You know what sucks the most? The creation of the new ring. Fuck, Celembrimbor knew full well what happened when rings of power were forged and passed down to men (the creation of Nazgul) and the awakening of Tar Goroth, and still that fucker proceeded to make a new ring.

In a sad way it doesn't feel out of place that Talion isn't mentioned in any part of the canon. Sure, we know it's because he was created after, and not by Tolkien, but my headcanon is that Talion was there, but no one ever knew. No one ever knew how hard he fought. No one ever knew how much he sacrificed. Without Talion, the War of the Ring would have begun much earlier, long before Gandalf sent Frodo to Rivendell, long before the Fellowship was formed. In fact the Fellowship probably would not have formed, as its members would have been too busy with war to go to Rivendell. Talion gave Middle Earth its most precious resource, time. Decades. And nobody ever knew.

The only non-canonical figure I like and wish had been included in the canon is Talion. His bravery, character, and entire narrative are just too intriguing and well-suited. His interactions with other people don't seem forced; as a Blackgate ranger, his actions and reactions are natural; even when he gains strength from Celeb and the Ring, he doesn't go overboard, etc. While Celebrimbor's friendship with Talion amid the story's twist and shenanigans near the end is something I don't particularly like, I can respect Talion's will to live and his ability to fight back the Dark Lord's advance until the Fellowship arrived to destroy the ring. RIP Talion.

Sovereign of Shadow he died being betrayed by Celeb, being left alone and living on the edge of almost giving up all his soul/mind to the Nazgul...Yet he struggled till the end until the alliance comes to kick the Darklord's arse! Doubt he found peace in afterlife after all the torturing in mind and soul for so long but at very least he can rest well now 😔😢

Many have asked the best way to get it but the thing with this cloak is that no specific tribe/orc drops it so it rather random BUT one thing for sure is that captain with epic rarity drops it AND based on my experience those from warmonger/mystic tribe has better chance dropping it.
