And what's really peculiar is at the time this was considered New age pop lol Believe it or not early '80s this was actually way ahead of its time anything that was synthesized or driven with Simmons drums or a programmed drum track was way way ahead of its time we were just coming out of '70s soul Zeppelin and some of the earliest 1980s and mid to late '70s rock and roll artists so this was actually called Progressive and New Wave at that time

....the creativity of todays music is stand still of musical noise. It goes with the age. Musicians today are uninspired, deterred for fame, glory, money..etc. There's no catapult for wanting to create on larger scale. The 70's/80's generation was a rush of genius creativity. It was music for the people, by the people creating a collective experience. As we can see. when we look back. The further we move away. The more its appreciated. As for myself, more I miss.

@@skopas this is a disgusting sentiment that is all too present nowadays. art is a forever transforming medium. when Talk Talk debuted, this exact “this isn’t real music” was used against them. music is in its best time now. whine and moan all u want or move on, it’s just cold facts.

I've not seen/heard this version before today and it's wonderful - the band and the audience are clearly up for it and... yeah, joy and energy, dead right. Everyone there is so completely in the song, beautiful to see and hear.

Thank you for not keeping this to yourself. I never thought I would hear a version as transcendent as the original...if I were to pass tonight, I would go happily into that good night. I never thought 40 years later I would be so moved again. 😊

Can’t believe this was 39 years ago. I want to go back to 1984, one of the best years of my life. I was 22. Great live version, I loved this song. Today’s technology, you can just listen to this song at any time. Back then, you either had to wait until it came on the radio, or you had the tape/CD.

Talk about pouring your heart into a performance... I purchased the original vinyl in 1984 and I was blown away by this song. 40 years later I discovered this performance and am blown away even more. This song grabs you and won't let go. A musical masterpiece- Mark was a legend and will be missed. PS- A sad commentary on how far music has declined over the decades.
