Out in the street today
We're parading around
We're the height of the fashion
And she laughs 'cos we look the same
And follow all of the rule
Every little bit of my time
Keeps me checking that my clothes are in line
I'll identify without wasting time
Mirror man
Inside of her room today
She's been working all hours
For the final presentation
Each day, dressed a different way
She's the star of the road
Every little bit of her time
Keeps her checking that she stays out of line
She'll wear anything you can't recognise
Mirror man
Songwriters
HOLLIS, MARK DAVID

An angel is silenced, a genius group can never be more...these 4 was and still will be one of my great comforts when I am down. Put on a song and my spirit lifts like a bird. The partys over for Mark, but for all others that have listen to it, it brings great joy. He worked with fellow Norwegian Anja Garbarek in the 2000`s, producing and playing on some tracks, i bet all of us would have wished that Talk Talk with Mark had made even more songs. With a tear in my eye, but a smile on my lips, I wish Mark all well in the after life and that his spirit lives on.

The band shared the same record company as Duran Duran & were expected to perform like some Korean K-Pop band. Bands like DD & Spandau were happy to dress up, take the cash & make poppy records.....this wasn't for Mark Hollis!,

@Lisa Surlie That's a subjective question. Without a doubt, both artistes were blessed with a talent that allowed them to become successful, professional musicians. Only a small number achieve that.
@711honved
@711honved 3 жыл бұрын
@Lisa Surlie Hardly anything is known about Mark Hollis' life. There are a handful of photos of him post 1998 & not even his cause of death was confirmed. Like so many others, Hollis was inspired by the punk movement & formed his first band, The Reaction. He was connected to the music industry early on through his brother Ed, who also worked with Eddie & The Hotrods. The early death of his brother Ed, through a heroin overdose, may have played a part in his decision to turn his back on the industry. Mark always thought the industry glamorised drugs. He despised drugs & eventually the industry. His incredibly moving tribute, I Believe In You, was possibly written with Ed in mind. Of course, he denied this.
@711honved
@711honved 3 жыл бұрын
@Lisa Surlie After seeing his brother's long decline into addiction, Mark held strong anti drug views. By all accounts he led a very normal life in Wimbledon & was a keen motorcyclist. He even rode the US coast to coast & attended Ducati biker conventions across Europe. Officially, Mark died following a short illness. This term is often used following a previously undiagnosed cancer death.
