@@tikithyme I see. That's why those Cuban "freedom fighters" bombed airliners and killed their fellow Cubans. Nice one. Btw, wasn't Batista a dictator? He killed 20,00 Cubans. America didn't seem to mind him. Why is that?

S Mutib why say “America” didn’t mind him. As if we are just one and not individuals. I’m an individual that just happens to be Italian American. Like I said above. I really don’t know much about Cuba. All I know is Fidel was a dictator. MANY Cubans fled Cuba to escape his persecution. One of my best friend did with her family when she was a child. We’ve talked about it. And I know her and trust her. She didn’t have good things to say. As far as this man? Well. Not to long ago I saw a story of a woman who met this wonderful man. The man said he had escaped Cuba. He married this woman. She was deeply in love with him. One day he left. Without a word. She was frantic. The next day she saw him on tv getting off of a plane in Cuba. He was a spy. Like this fellow. In fact. They were a part of the same group. Now. Again. What you call hero. I call spies. What he did to this woman for “the cause” uh no. I don’t care what you have going on politically. You simply don’t drag an innocent in. Just for appearance? Luckily. She was able to sue Cuba and won millions as this spy worked for Cuba. But yea. I’m not buying the hero thing. Anyone who can do what this guys partner did. Well. Tell you what. I’m sure you can find the story and the woman. Ask her if these guys are hero’s. :)

jazzlive do you realize what you are saying is a complete lie. The BTTR pilots, led by the terrorist Jose Basulto, announced publicly in Miami they were going to do another illegal overflight into Havana. This was the latest in a number of illegal flights, and the Cuban government announced they would no longer tolerate them. Gerardo had absolutely nothing to do with the shootdown, but was part of that absolute farce of a trial in the US. And at least get your facts right, when the BTTR overflights into Cuban airspace were occurring, the Balseros crises was over.

jazzlive obviously you don't understand facts too well. THe Balseros crisis was OVER when the BTTR started the illegal overflights. The Cuban and US govt had reached an immigration agreement that ended the crises. I know you are trying to convince those who may not know better that what you are saying is the truth, but anyone with Google can figure it out you just don't know what you're talking about. The BTTR illegal overflights had nothing to do with the Balseros crises as Basulto himself announced that very fact, admitting the group's purpose to pick up rafters had ended, but that he was going to start overflights in Havana as a call to the CUban people. Really, if you don't know what the hell you're talking about, keep your lies to yourself.

I can without hesitation state that despite this life long disregard, I hold this man in the highest regard, he was called, he answered, I admire his character, right or wrong is subjective, courage and heart are not, he has both. @wolfila8873

@@Atilla_the_Fun The Cuban government is "under constant subversion" because it's an undemocratic, totalitarian and abusive dictatorship in which Cuban citizens don't want to live an extra second of their lives in. Also, being under constant threat of anything could not be an excuse to deprive its citizens of the most fundamental human rights and freedoms (even government in free countries which are under brutal wars don't suppress them). Aren't freedom and rights the primary causes to be defended and protected by a governemnt? What is the function of a government if not granting and defending the freedom of the people? If a government withdraws freedom and rights to the individuals-disregarding whatever excuse being used for it-that government can only be considered illegitimate and a failure, and deserves to be overthrown.
