Dick Cavett has been nominated for eleven Emmy awards (the most recent in 2012 for the HBO special, Mel Brooks and Dick Cavett Together Again), and won three. Spanning five decades, Dick Cavett’s television career has defined excellence in the interview format. He started at ABC in 1968, and also enjoyed success on PBS, USA, and CNBC.
His most recent television successes were the September 2014 PBS special, Dick Cavett’s Watergate, followed April 2015 by Dick Cavett’s Vietnam. He has appeared in movies, tv specials, tv commercials, and several Broadway plays. He starred in an off-Broadway production ofHellman v. McCarthy in 2014 and reprised the role at Theatre 40 in LA February 2015.
Cavett has published four books beginning with Cavett (1974) and Eye on Cavett (1983), co-authored with Christopher Porterfield. His two recent books -- Talk Show: Confrontations, Pointed Commentary, and Off-Screen Secrets (2010) and Brief Encounters: Conversations, Magic moments, and Assorted Hijinks(October 2014) are both collections of his online opinion column, written for The New York Times since 2007. Additionally, he has written for The New Yorker, TV Guide, Vanity Fair, and elsewhere.

Oh my gosh, Woody Allen is seriously funny in this one. And Cloris Leachman, right next to him, fresh off of "The Last Picture Show", is a delight. The two of them together, love it. When Cavett says he hasn't seen The Godfather yet, and asks a question about it, Woody's answer made me spit my water out of my mouth, I was not expecting that. Oh my gosh. I hope I don't oversell it, I was just caught off guard. PS: Had to chuckle though: "Tomorrow night, Bill Cosby..."lol.

In the beginning you will see Jason Alexander plays the George character like Woody Allen. He soon changed it a bit..... .and Larry David said he wrote the George character after himself

Woody is a great film maker and very funny, its sad that whatever happened in his personal life over shadows that for a lot of people, he denies any wrong doing, I definitely don't have enough informational to judge him, I doubt most people do

@ArchieJ I agree, and that’s part of the problem: “believe all victims”, when in reality the issue has always been that victims weren’t taken seriously. We *should* take any alleged victim seriously to the extent that potential crimes are investigated and brought to trial if the prosecution can prove its case. But *believe* them? It *is* the prosecution’s case to prove. The burden of proof is on THEM. That’s in our Constitution, which so many people couldn’t be bothered with, it seems.

do have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like all the other Dick Cavett shows.

Why on earth would you do that?! Over the years, her accusations against him have changed significantly - even to the point of contradicting herself. So called “witnesses” have recanted their statements. Investigators and experts have cleared him several times. You must be incredibly misinformed, or very stuborn to side with her. She is a victim, but only of her mother’s evil manipulation
