In my 70s, I’ve watched a LOT of rugby over the years; I’ve never seen a performance like this young fellow put on vs Leinster. Unbelievable, no other word for it. One thing (there are so many) I like about him is his go forward often from a standing start and on the charge; he refuses to die and collapse in a heap, something I find common with our other more vaunted loose forwards ie once they hit opposition they take the safe route and fall down and turn to get the ball back safely; all good, BUT, Hanekom fights on and creates more pressure and gains more yards on and uncertainty for the opposition. I lay in bed last night dreaming of a bomb squad (& RWC squad) with Hanekom, Louw and Roos coming on together. I would pick him, NO question.

This guy is a Machine, He is so good on defense and amazing with fast open play. (i think this is wat the Boks need) He disrups the offence and it is hard to gain any field with a player like this. If Rassie wants to run the ball or destroy them on defence he would be my no 1 pick. but i dont know if Rassie would go this route. We have been dominating with our front pack. Cameron is still young and he needs to be patient and learn from the senior players. Mark my words Cameron will be our next starting no 8 in the world cup

Erasmus, being a former Springbok loose forward, would fully understand what a sensation this young player is. He fits the Springbok mold so well. Lets hope he stays with the Boks.

For a 21 year old to be capable of producing that all round performance against a world class Leinster back row is astonishing. The scary thing for opponents is that he will likely get better and better. I doubt if he will start against Ireland but a place on tne bench is a real possibility. It should be a great series.

If the goal for the Boks is to build depth, particularly looking ahead to 2027, then excluding Cameron from the Ireland series and preparing him for the Championship might be the best approach. We've already seen his performance against Ireland (or Leinster). Let's focus on readying him for the Championship against southern hemisphere opponents.

Selectors need to be brave and pick him. The only thing I disagree with is when you said he has been playing well for the last couple of weeks. He has been good all season. Before the Leinster game, the URC dream team came out, where Hanekom was already selected at 8 because of his consistency throughout the tournament.

He looks light for European wet fields ,but than again the WC will be held in Oz .Maybe he can develop to like a bit of a skinstadt type of nr 8,but not sure he's a duane type of no8 for the wet fields of europe

Absolutely he should. Kolisi should be out the equation he is off form and quite frankly has been for the entire year. That opens up options in the backrow that could accommodate Hanekom.

You dont want to play against kwagga, evan, cameron or wiese. roos will be dealt with easiest, wiese might get one or two penalties. kwagga is superhuman, i say play kwagga and replace with hanekom

Relax guys..Kwagga is the reliable choice. If Hannekom wants to start for the boks he needs to completely dethrone an inform Roos, Kwagga and Wiese. Not just 1 season or game...Evan been performing since 2022, but even though he has been the best 8 in SA...he still couldnt dethrone Wiese or Vermeulen. But I do think Kwagga and Wiese are our guys.
