I love the baby Jesus scene, even the kids attacking the grandpa verbally after, but the bit of them trying to get the knife out of his leg using another knife to pry it out in the hospital is legit one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I think this movie just hits different when you see it in theaters as a teenager back when it came out. It's just SO quotable lmao "when I wake up, I piss excellence", "dear lord baby Jesus(in that accent)", "If you ain't first, you're last", "don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!" Just random shit my friend group would say all the time lol To me the funniest part of the movie is the ghost part where it says "get ouuuut" just because it's so unexpected it just killed me 😂😂😂😂

This is one where I always felt like every cast member was better than the overall writing, which had highs and mehs and averaged good. There are some great jokes but sometimes you get the vibe of them all just fucking around, which is fun but not like all-time best comedy. Sacha Baron Cohen's accent is pretty amazing, over the top a lot but the way he draws out "nnnnnON!" (it cannot be transcribed) in that one scene has stuck with me forever haha. I love the scene on the phone where Ricky keeps forgetting to be mad at John C. Reilly. MVP acting, writing, directing and editing is "Get her a coffin."

I had somehow combined this and Walk Hard into one film in my memory and watching this was like waking up from a fever dream I didn't know I was in

I love Talledega Nights, but definitely makes fun of NASCAR’s stereotypes. If you want to see a truer adaptation of what NASCAR is like highly recommend the film Days of Thunder. Stars Tom Cruise, Robert DuVall, Nicole Kidman, Michael Rooker, Randy Quaid, John C. Riley, and Cary Elwes.
