They spent much of their youth on Hawaii because their parents were in the military and traveled a lot. Also, my mom's family as far as I can trace back is from South Carolina (can't find any documentation from before 1860s) but she is still 90% African according to dna test kits...and is also lightskin so yeah this debate is useless and old when the fact is that Black is beautiful and cannot be put into a box but biracial is having 1 non-black parent, which she does. My hair doesn't do what hers does so I completely understand the original comment of this thread but it'd be ignorant to say that's only a biracial thing when there are so many variations of how genes turn out and even people with the same 2 parents come out looking entirely different sometimes.
