In this video, we are comparing four brands of peanut butter sandwich cookies including the Nabisco Nutter Butter, Kroger brand, Benton’s (Aldi brand) and Great Value (Walmart brand).
They are all 16 oz. packages.
* The Nabisco Nutter Butter were $4.88 at Walmart. 2 cookies (28g) = 130 calories
* The Kroger brand were $3.39. 2 cookies (25g) = 110 calories
* The Benton’s (Aldi brand) were $2.75. 2 cookies (25g) = 110 calories
* The Great Value (Walmart brand) were $2.78. 2 cookies (25g) = 110 calories

The Aldi are a special buy so you won’t find them all year round. We tried them last year and preferred them over Nutter Butters. I miss the Nutter Butter cereal!!

@@nberkel We actually had the Girl Scouts Peanut Butter Sandwich (that's what we get in our area) in the cabinet at the time we filmed this. They are very, very hard cookies compared to any of the ones in this video. I ate two of them and then gave the box away. To me, they weren't worth the price. They have round Nutter Butters in Minnesota but they are bite-sized. I've been eating Walmart brand because they are cheaper but they do taste good. Thanks for another great review!

very interesting review! Nutter Butter is one of my faves, although I haven't bought it in a long time because of the price. But I totally agree with you that from time to time Walmart can totally hit it out of the ballpark with some very good items (like the bismarck donuts), so it just depends. All the stores have their hits and misses. Reviews like yours help people to know which is which, what to get, and what to avoid and also save money. I will get the Great Value nutter butters next time!

I have the Aldi ones right now & think they are yummy! Nutter Butters used to be a family fave many many years ago. And today I got 4 boxes of Girl Scout cookies- one of which is the Peanut Butter Sandwiches! (my fave GS cookie) I'm a PB lover like you, Tami!!! TFS!!! 😊

I definitely also feel like a lot of things aren't as good as they used to be! I wonder how much is because the company is using cheaper ingredients/recipes vs. my taste buds have adjusted to nicer treats I didn't have before (like restaurant desserts or premium cookies like from Life's a Baatch). I think I've tried Nutter Butters once, and I obviously wasn't a fan since I'm not fond of peanut butter. I gave the cereal a try too when it was out; while it wasn't my favorite either, I can say it has been one of the better peanut butter cereals I've tried... Maybe even the best (though tbf I've only tried a handful). This was a great comparison video. Walmart has really been stepping up! Now if only they could do the same with their shopping experience...

Nutter Butters used to be my favorite. Of course, I’m just old enough to say they don’t make things like they used to!! I just go to Aldi for my packaged cookies if I’m not making homemade cookies. Great video!

I used to get the Walmart old fashioned PB cookies all the time but I think they discontinued them. Haven't seen them in stores in forever which makes no sense at all since they were so good. I only see their Reese's PB cookies which are terrible.

Agreed, the resealable package is nice but gallon bags work too!! 😅 Good to know the Kroger is only better if it’s more convenient in some way! Thanks for trying them!! I actually prefer Walmarts version of thin mints and samoas to the name brand and Keebler’s versions 😮 so the NutterButter doesn’t terribly surprise me! Wonder if all the golden Oreo like cookies taste about the same?!

I loved this blind taste test. With grocery prices as high as they are I tend to get store brand if the taste is not that far off from name brand. I would love to see a blind taste test for Nilla wafers and their store brand counterparts. Love your videos.

Welcome to the new world (shrink-flation and covert devaluation). To me this represents everything. I’m always surprised when this (synonymous lower quality shrinking product value) isn’t addressed and more so noticed by the majority. Wishful thinking isn’t a factor on price and flavor at all certain point. Again personally I feel that we’ve past that point. It is rare that something (any product) really tastes as it advertises itself to much less uses uncompromised ingredients. There is hope and joy which is why I love watching all your cool fun and concise reviews but then there is a point of misrepresentation(which I’m not accusing you of). It seems like soon a channel such as this will begin to keep themselves entirely busy watching and testing the “covert devaluation” [as I call it] of the myriad and millions of products as companies struggle and whither. We all see it coming and it would be good to have real time transparency about exactly when this radical shift is taking place (and where). Best to all stay strong and vigilant.

Great review! Sadly a lot of companies use the same product with different packaging. I remember growing up 2 breads were same bread and factory, I think it was Wonder Bread and 7-11 brand. Disappointed Nutter Butter changed. I WISH Tate's had peanut butter! I think Gramdma's pb cookies are ok but can't beat home made. Thanks for the review!

That's very interesting I tried. The great value of nutty butter it was good but I wish I can try some but I know they sell them somewhere but somewhere at Walmart I tried the regular nutty butter cookie it was so good I never tried other kinds of nutty butter before I wish I have some but I don't know where is it where I'm supposed to get it at

Saw a post in an Aldi Facebook group that had the Benton's Peanut Butter Creme cookies in two different packages, one was resealable and one wasn't. Resealable probably made at same factory as Kroger cookies.

Nutter Butter does have plain the round ones also (Ca.), sorry they aren't in your area, which would have been great in comparison. I love Nutter Butter, but I feel like the recipe is different, definitely not as sweet or peanut buttery tasting. Thank you for the review 🍪

I just had the nutternutter and now I have a package of the great value cookies. I like the great value but in my opinion the nutterbutter is slightly better. There is something slightly off with the great value to me.

It isn’t the Walmart products I dint like… it’s the corporation and their business practices I disagree with… I actually think most of their products are very good… our Walmart is also not an enjoyable place to shop… I enjoy shopping at aldi most of then time… I think a lot of people just go to one store for groceries… I don’t always have time to go to two or three stores each week… if I’m only going to one store I get the best deal I can even if it’s not the best deal around…

I used to love nutter butter but the taste has gone down hill, they don’t have that rich peanut butter flavor anymore. “BACK TO NATURE” PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH COOKIES I get from Sprouts are what I get nowadays. They have a soft flavorful peanut butter wafer not to mention the peanut butter filling has a rich natural peanut butter flavor.

Another idea is to blind taste great values new comparable Snickers, Milky Way, Twix and kit kat. One things I found interesting is that Great Value were all made in the country of Turkey, but unlike the name brand...the great value contained no bioengineered ingredients.
