Hello!
This is part 2 of a three part series on handling and taming your roborovski, or not, depending on your roborovski and your own preferences.
In this video I discuss the best environment for handling your robo, how to build up your robos trust and your own confidence for handling. Also signs of distress to watch out for in your robo.
In the first video, I discuss whether or not to handle a roborovski, the characteristics of robos and some general considerations, and in the third, I discuss ways around handling if your robo doesn't like being handled/ is shy or scared, or if you are uncomfortable handling your robo.

Love your videos. I have a little robo who I adopted she is so funny and confident but doesnt like to be held and is skittish of a hand if try to stoke but she os confident with you bwing around. I've learnt that some are look don't touch and I'm fine with this as she's happy 😊

another great video with great tips and advice . would it be possible to do cage set ups and diet videos once this series on taming and handling is complete.

Hello😊 thanks so much for your comment and suggestion. Yes I can definitely look into doing this. I was planning to an in depth video on robos in the wild and then from there I could do a video on set ups and diet yes.

I just recently got my Robo. I put my hand in the enclosure resting it on bedding with seed mix in my hand and he came to sniff and left, I did my best to be still and remove my hand carefully to not startle him and he seemed fine with it he went back to his wheel to play rather then hiding from me. But most of the time around night he ghosts me and only comes out when I'm sleeping. I know he is out there by the sounds I hear, such as him running onhis wheel. In the mornings, no artifical light just natural light, he lets me see him play at times, but sometime's he is more skittish. He loves meal worms and right after i add one to his food, he comes out to eat. Today I tried resting my hand inside his enclosure while holding a meal worm at the palm, he springed over my hand not taking it and hid. So after a few more seconds I left the meal worm in his enclosure and removed my hand. I'm worried that he might not want to be handled :( I dont expect him to be super friendly like some other species, but I would like him to come up and give me a sniff every once in a while or take a treat from my hand. I mainly just want him to not see me as someone to be afraid of.

Roborovskis were my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE hamster/animal of ALL TIME as a kid!! These tiny little babies still have such a big piece of my heart. Thank you so much for your wonderful informative content on them and for footage of your adorable tiny baby!!! 🥺🥺🥺😍😍😍😍💕💖💕💘💕💖

My robo will come out every time I call him and will always try to sniff my fingers through the bars haha.. Yes it sometimes bite and it can be painful
