My local hobby store has one of the reissues in stock. I was going to do a custom Axial Wraith scale build until I saw this and now I don't know. This would make an awesome scaler

And no shock absorbers! They are both quite bouncy!

I had an original XR311 in 1983 or 194 i think (bought second hand) i sold it (really used and in really bad condition) a few years ago on eBay, got about £40 for it (US $60-65).

Like the part easy to assemble kits, time consuming and near impossible if you get the original issue with Japanese instructions but trial and error these are pure awesome rc trucks.

I have the original XR311 with more videos. It's almost ready for the road.

It's ironic that these two should appear in the Tamiya commercial together, since the Cheetah was an obvious copy of the XR311 and the Americans were the none too happy about it.
