@@kathyjones4869 The big deal isn't the fact she got a warning. It's the fact that she immediately identified herself by her title and job then flashed her badge and asked the deputy to let her go. That is malfeasance in office and/or abuse of power and as a top cop for a major city she should have known what they were doing was illegal. The only thing she didn't do was threaten the deputy's job like Peg Lautenschlager (former Wisconsin Attorney General) did during her DUI stop in Wisconsin some years back. Take a minute and think about this, Kathy, can you really trust a person to uphold the law and Constitution (especially the "equal protection under the law" part) when they flash the symbol of their office and ask for special treatment? Had she not used her job and title the way she did and the officer gave her a warning there wouldn't have been anywhere near the blowback. It was the abuse of public trust that sunk her.

Yeah I know for a fact that out of myself and people I know we get breaks whenever we’ve been pulled over. All difference races as well. I’m Hispanic, my best friend is black. We’ve both gotten breaks. If you’re honest and cool with them they’re usually cool with you. If you act like an a**h°le like I see a lot of people on KZfaq do, then you get treated like an a**h°le. But even then I’ve seen a good portion get off with a warning. Depends, if you’re going like 30 over, that’s another story. You must have a lead foot. 🤷

I know of DUI's getting covered up. 20-25 yrs ago, My uncle grabbed my license, taped his business card to it. I only got pulled over 1 time, & was let off. I then had to get my uncle a pound of coffee for the cop who pulled me over.

Yes. Lawson's son got one year for basically rape of a child under age 10 4 counts. This usually means 20 years and he only got one and prob won't serve all of that. It's disgusting.

She's police chief and isn't it some protocol for camera's to be on? I as a citizen assume if an officer approaches me his body cam is on?

I want to know why they were taking an untagged golf cart instead of driving a vehicle? Just because the officer says he was pulling them over because there were no tags does not mean they were not driving the golf cart because they went to the club to drink and then were drinking at the restaurant?
