The first time I visited Tampa I had no clue about the lightning. The very first storm that rolled through I got quite a treat. Florida lightning is amazing.

Truly is! Couldn't agree more! There are a lot of factors about the city that still encourage me to to move but the clouds/ storms/ very unique sky has helped to keep me here! Thanks for watching and visiting the biggest little city!

My Dad was in Tampa in 1964 while he was in the Navy and told me that every day he was there, the weather was just like this...every afternoon.

I live in Maryland now, but I used to live in Florida in the Tampa Bay area. I really miss the incredible storms.

I do miss those Florida storms, I've never seen lightning dance on a patio. We don't really get too many good storms up here in Akron but every once in a while we'll get one, usually they get pretty severe tho.

Live in Bradenton myself so yeah, summer is coming and I'm ready for some storms. I do photography myself, mostly clouds. Gotta love a good thunderstorm !!

It was a really good storm day! It being so long ago I can't remember if I shot it from inside or outside my car. I'm not as bold as the video seems so likely I was in the car and I would guess the video was cut short either by low battery on the phone or rain starting to drop! Thanks for visiting!

I had a thunderstorm like that almost every day when I went to Tampa. Except the wind knocked me down once lol.

Florida and Texas means the lightning 🌩 😕 capital of the world. We also had a severe 😳 thunderstorm yesterday afternoon in kolkata, India. Everyone was safe and no one got hurt.

More info. on the spots in Tampa I frequent for this, Tampa International Airport (free first hour parking, can just leave and go back on the hour!) and the multi-story parking lot at the 'Walter's Crossing' plaza, the top story is usually totally empty and provides three great perspectives. This video was shot there as I frequent there due to the great skyscapes/ city perspective. Thanks for stopping by!

I've been to Tampa and Clearwater on holiday along time ago and i remember how quickly storms rolled in and then went back to being hot and sunny after 30-45 mins. One storm came rolling in when i was swimming in the hotel pool and although it was warm rain i had to go back in due to CG's striking everywhere.

I was pretty terrified as a child too but had a relationship with a storm-obsessed girl in high school, was no longer afraid (for safety sake I can't say it's smart or advisable!) after watching her storm chasing behaviors!

Sorry! As mentioned above, it was long ago but if I recall it was either due to low phone battery (impromptu filming and I'm not totally prepared with a charger all the time >.

If I was better versed in the time lapse (I think I could do it now, after returning to the internet) or had this view setup in a non-public place I would make it happen! Will work on it sometime soon and post it! Some good storms just started arriving again so hopefully I can test out the AKASO (Pseudo-GoPro) for possible better quality. Thanks for watching!
