In this video, I present my full vision for what Pokémon Z could have been. In this complete, cinematic visual novel, I walk through an imagining of what the entire main storyline of this game could have looked like, where you begin as a rookie trainer in Vaniville Town who rises to the challenge of Mega Evolution to assist Professor Sycamore. Along the way, you’ll challenge 8 Gym Leaders, unravel a thousand year old mystery, and stop the epic forces of a mysterious legendary Pokémon known as Zygarde before a villainous organization can use it to destroy Kalos as you know it.

Fantastic voice acting (though xerosic sounds like a pirate???) You fixed serena and cleaned up some of the editing. All you have to music wise for thr postgame is re add the kalos gym leader themes and this perfect

Great video, have you ever thought about doing a similar one for the concept of a sequel to Sun and Moon in the vein of B2W2? I certainly don't hate Ultra Sun and Moon, but I felt like the story was very weak compared to the original which had so much potential for a great sequel. USUM had a lot of good concepts like expanding on the themes of interdimensional travel and the Ultra Megalopolis, but the end result was fairly lackluster (they should have at the very least put in some puzzles before you fight the legendary like in the distortion world rather than just being a glorified hallway). It also would be interesting to explore the islands of Alola in a different order and to see how the characters have grown and changed over the years especially, Lusamine and her family.

So, Ramos is elderly and is depicted to be a gardener, and the anime emphasizes this. I think you can also add to his character on how he misses the lush greenery around the town that used to be bigger when he was a kid, and that ever since the town became bustling and more structures must be built to sustain it, he doesn't see much of it anymore, and that's why he is gardening as his other job, to show the plants and greenery that used to thrive in the former lush greenery.

I’m 15. Naturally, my first Pokemon memories were gens 5 and 6, but it was gen 6 that really made an impact on me and that I’ve replayed for years since. My inner child is so happy.

Gen 6, deep down when you go looking for it in the game, has one of the deepest stories in Pokémon. Truly a shame that story wasn’t the focus

Gen 6 had the potential to have a story on par with gen 5, but the lack of charm and confusing ideals on Lysander really just didn't help it at all. I'm glad that Gen 7 had a spectacular story to compensate

Like I said on the original three-parter, this is fantastic. While Diantha's team is better here, it feels wrong without her Gardevoir, so maybe replace the Florges with it? Diancie will still be the one to Mega Evolve though due to how powerful it'll be then. I really want Diantha to get some serious character development and have a battle that'll make Cynthia shake in her boots. Diantha deserves *SOOOOOO* much better.

I like how Lysandre is portrayed and his artistic beauty aesthetic for his team, representing an art form of battle and nature with each Pokemon. However, I feel like Gyarados could still fit in with this aesthetic. it's a fearsome dragon whose rage is so absolute its entire being is built around it, known for commonly attacking towns. There's a beauty in the absolute, something I think Lysandre would appreciate. But it can also show how angry Lysandre is within his soul, with it being his Ace still (a bit on the nose, yes, but it works).

I said this before, but it bears repeating: This imagining of what Pokemon Z could've been is absolutely fantastic. The addition of having VAs here really brought it together too. This is something that I still wish could've happened, not just to redeem Kalos... But maybe even give us something that would've rivaled Gen 5 in terms of quality.

I'm glad to see this turn out so well! Kalos had so much potential, with many themes left unfulfilled. It was your first videos on Kalos that got me to subscribe, if I recall, and I must say that this was truly a phenomenal way to end it off. Even if there's still a postgame video. I'm looking forward to whatever you put out after that too, as I've loved everything you've put out! This is certainly a video, movie even, that I'll be returning to in the future. You should be proud!

Omg this time AZ part at the end ACTUALLY made me cry. That's beautiful told as a wrap up to the ancient kings story. No longer eternally cursed to walk the earth, and finally his partner pokemon again. Way better than sweeping the street with his head after flooring him after you beat the champion. Like that part didn't even make sense to me as a kid. Idk how that'd set ur heart free, but sure u do u mate lol. Again 10/10 full story to pkmn Z

That moment when a video manages to move you more emotionally than the original game. In all seriousness though, I really do wish this is what they had done with the Kalos games. For all the things it did poorly or messed up in doing, Kalos still holds a special place in my heart. But, this story absolutely does everything that X and Y’s story stood for and what it should’ve been. All I can hope is that if we ever return to Kalos, then it’ll be after Game Freak has taken notes from amazing fan reimaginings like this one.

this has been sitting in my watch later for months, and i’m so mad at myself for waiting this long!!!! i’m blown away by the amount of time and effort that clearly went into this, from the writing, editing, and voice talents! i went into this expecting just a list of what people might like to see from pokemon z, so this was such a pleasant surprise. it fixed so many issues i had with x and y, and was really engaging! thanks for all the hard work that went into this project, it’s absolutely amazing 💕💖💗

I loved this video! I love the idea of old regions being redesigned. I have a couple long winded notes/questions; -Wasn't the Kalos war stated to be 3000 years ago in XY? I understand that you probably changed this to better match up with IRL medieval times, but it may be more important than we currently know, as the kingdom of Paldea was established 2000 years ago. -On the topic of Malva, in Pokemon Masters they are currently making the Kalos villain chapter, and it even includes Malva helping Looker! -I understand not wanting to have Shauna/Tierno/Trevor in this, as they really served no purpose, but why remove them entirely? Maybe if there had been an optional "complete the pokedex competition" between your friends that checks how many pkmn you had caught on every route(Like when Bianca checks how many Pokemon you have caught on route one at the start of BW1), Trevor would always have the most, but could also serve as an npc you could trade with for version exclusives or trade evolutions. + Maybe you would get rewards from Sina/Dexio/Sycamore depending on your progress just like in S/V.) -Just a personal opinion on this one, but Ramos and Viola should swap gym locations imo, The gardens on route 4 fit Ramos perfectly. It feels like they originally just swapped the 2 gym leaders because of the BW anime having Alexa towards the end. I cannot wait to see the Postgame video!

One thing I found interesting was the change in signature megas for Lysander, like Gyarados is one of the more violent and destructive megas, meanwhile Mega Absol is literally a pacifist. Can’t tell if giving it to Lysander as his ace was meant to be an ironic thing like Cyrus’ Crobat or not.

This story is awesome and all, but I highly doubt that this is what pokemon Z would've been like if it were real. Its amazing, really!!! Its just that it's sad that pokemon will never make a pokemon game with a story as good as this. This video is more like a kalos recreation or a retelling of the story, but in a better way than what we got in pokemon xy and what we could've gotten in pokemon Z. If Pokemon Z did happen, I think the gyms would be a little harder, zygarde would be the main legendary, and the story would've been the same with all the rivals and other characters, but one can only wish for the pokemon company to pull of this type of story telling in any modern pokemon game. Still, great video!

As someone whose Pokemon journey began 10 years ago, right as X/Y came out, I had no idea what i was in for. But I loved those games as a 14-year old, and i still love them now as a 24-year old. I loved everything about Gen 6. In fact, I'm replaying those games right now, with the intent to finally complete that generation's national dex without any outside assistance. And then, this video shows up in my feed unexpectedly (Even if I am 9 months late). I began watching this with high expectations. But, in the end, after spending an hour and a half watching what I didn't expect to be a visual novel...I'm left with mixed feelings. There are really good ideas here, so good that they would work as movie pitch (Pokemon or otherwise). But, I also have some serious issues and notice a lot of glaring flaws with what you've presented. Issues that seem to be key to reimagining the Kalos story, but end up being flawed in practice. I'll spare my criticisms, though, as I feel like they would put me in the minority. Maybe years from now we'll get an X/Y remake on a future piece of hardware. It will more than likely remain faithful to the originals, but there is an idea or two here that I could see being implemented in such a remake. Gen 6 means a lot to me. And as 2023, the 10-Year Anniversary of X/Y draws to a close, I'm reminded why I not only love those games, but also how I got my start in Pokemon. And this video, for all its good ideas and glaring flaws, is icing on an already delicious cake. (Now, off to watch the post-game follow-up...)

I will admit that this took a very different direction to what I expected. If I were in charge of making Pokémon Z, I would have more or less adapted the story of the anime with some liberties taken to ensure it doesn't end up an exact retelling of the anime just in the form of a game. That said, I admire how well thought out and imaginative your take on Pokémon Z is. You went for something much more ambitious than I would've come up with and it made for a very enjoyable and well executed story. Well done!

I got Pokemon X for my 12th birthday. I'm 19 now. I wasn't happy when I was 12 years old, but this almost remedies that in a way. Seeing something from my childhood resurrected in such an amazing way. Two hours of my life WELL SPENT!

God I love these kind of videos where pokemon fans let lose and create an incredible story. Its rare to see someone besides Mr Buddy create an entire new story that blows my socks off. Even with the limitation of using an already existing region you managed to create something truly incredible while maintaining the characters and things in Kalos that make Kalos what it is. Rather than creating an entirely new story in an already existing region you refined what was there and added in your own artistic twists and flavors delivering a pokemon story on crack pushing the story to its limits. Thank you for creating this video truly, and please dont stop here.

Great video and interpretation. Would have been amazing to play a game with this story. I watched this on my TV and found myself not bing able to turn away. I actively avoid fan videos and the like. I however watched your Pokémon X and Y Retrospective video. As you showed such knowledge of the games and Kalos, I figured I’d give it a watch. Thank you for the great video and effort put into this. I’d even appreciate more videos like this with voiced sections of existing stories in the games.

I know this is probably never going to happen but whenever Kalos it's revisited in the main series I truly dream that the kalos starters get Mega-Evolutions, it's so wierd that they didn't get megas, it would be like if the Alolan starters didn't get signature Z-moves or the Galarian starters didn't get gigantamax forms

GOD This is so good. I haven't completed the entire thing yet but I'm loving it. Kalos gets the love it deserves. Honestly, I stopped to comment because I got a bit teary eyed watching the video. Gen 6 holds a special place in my heart, since it brought me back to pokemon. I fell out of the pokemon community and anything to do with the franchise for 2 years before gen 6 and it was gen 6 anime that reignited my passion for the franchise. When I was caught up with it, I immediately rushed to play the games and was disappointed. I loved the music and the region, but overall the game was not what I was hoping for. The character designs were great and there was a lot of potential with the ideas, the execution and implementation was not well. So, I'm just super glad to see a better version of them. Edit: Having finished the video, it's amazing, as I'd thought it would be. I think my only "issues" would be the elite 4 not being involved at all in the story. I know you mentioned that you like them being mysterious, but I would far appreciate characters who aren't just boss battles. Honestly, one of the reasons why the Paldean elite 4 is my fav group among e4 and why I loved the way Galar handled it. Neither were major in the story, but they did appear outside of boss battles. I think Siebold could be pretty easily implemented if we build up the fact that he has like an information/spy system built through a chain of his restraunts or something like that. Malva could be shown to be the one preventing the other 2 elite 4 members from getting involved by preventing them from getting info on the crisis. Later, you get to expose Malva in the post game and appoint a new elite 4 member. And another would probably be that I wish the final Zygarde battle was a raid battle with Diantha, Sycamore, Serena and possibly even Looker. Though Looker could be excluded since he's probably the weakest trainer there. Give that Zygarde like 4 health bars for the 4 trainers if necessary for difficulty but I just like the feeling that Eternatus gave with the raid battle. The vibe that this is one pokemon no human can defeat on their own. A God. Anyway, loved the video overall. Amazing. Would absolutely love if the XY remakes when they come out actually did something like this but I don't really expect it. I would love for XY remakes to just be Z.

Gen 6 was my first region, and because of that, its very important to me. My favorite pokemon came from my first team. Xerneas was etheral and beautiful and i wish it mega evolved.

I wish this was a game. X and Y never lived up to their full potential, of which there was so much. A pokemon Z would have been perfect to flesh out the region and expand upon all the things they never did.

this awesome, but there are a couple issues, first I would have liked to see how Lysander got the legendary pokemon, the fix would be for you to capture the one in the location you chose, but to have the other person who went alone to lose to Lysander to explain how he got one of the legendaries. Two, your rival shouldn't give up, in the post game the story could revolve around them getting a mega ring and then have them challenge you for the title of champion after the second pass. On a more minor note, the other 3 characters Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno could be used to explore different aspects of the game. pokemon pageants for Shauna, Trevor as a researcher who tells you about the special new pokemon he found out about and needs help to document it, and Tierno does the dance minigame like the one you can do in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. I loved the story and presentation, it was awesome, Thank you and the team for this video!

So once I got over the fact that this was not a realistic thought experiment on what a third version would have been but rather a full blown rewrite of X&Y I actually ended up enjoying it. I’ve said in other comments a few things I didn’t agree with but they’re mostly based on the assumption that this would be more closely related to the originals than they were. The originals always had the bare bones of something interesting that was simply executed poorly, so it is cool to see it reimagined in this way. I like how Lysandre ends up being a more tragic figure, rather than just a bit of an evil idiot, and he is framed in such a way that it can come as a surprise that he is the big bad. Making Diantha Essentia is not my favourite aspect but still an interesting change.

Started with gsc/rby and stuck through every gen but gen 6 and the whole feel of mega evolutions was definitely the most hype and fun to be around not to mention the whole vibe was different. Was great to be a teenager for gen 6 just playing with my friends from school all day or on PSS
