In English, "mas o menos" more or less means "give _or_ take," not "give _and_ take." "Give and take" means something else. Also, in the sentence provided, the literal translation "more or less" definitely works.

This is so complicated trying to distinguish these two words. I thought I had it, but the more I listened the more they both seem the same. I think one just has to get used to hearing how others use the words instead of trying to know the rules.

Can you say "Habia tantas personas." as a whole sentence without adding +que for a conclusion or would you have to change it to "Habia muchas personas." ? Thank you!

Sí, si lo entiendo bien, lo que es escrito es, en inglés: "The movie was so boring that we didn't go to the cinema", pero lo que dijo en el video fue "La película estaba tan aburrida que nos fuimos del cine", que tiene más sentido 🙂 Ademas, por el ejemplo sigiuente...he estudiado el español de España principalmente. Se puede decir "no pude dormir por toda la noche" también, ¿verdad?

Tan can be seen as a description, and not plural that much. Tanto is more about quantity and plural
