Thought id share a little hack I learnt recently from Simon Westmore at Paramotor training ( Swindon ), some may already know it, but others seem to take a long time untangling wings, this will hopefully help. Godspeed@6867

Thanks a lot for this tutorial! I've never seen a video like this that shows exactly what you need to do to untangle your lines. The body cam is perfect, it's very easy to see what you are doing. I recently did a paragliding starters course and everytime I had to prepare my parapante, I spent ages trying to untangle my lines and I always ended having to call an instructor over to help me out. They didn't teach us this trick in the starters course but this will certainly help out a lot, thank you! 🙂

Exactly what you tube is all about. I’m a total newbie only just brought a wing to ground handle. Spent half hour trying to untangle a crazy ass mess. Two mins later it’s done. Brilliant. Anymore tips for a newbie. Be quite funny for a total novice to show his instructor a trick like that haha. Keep them coming

after a river rescue the wonderful boaters that saved me absolutely bees nested my lines- god bless them this worked in very short time- most importantly coax out the torsion/ friction knots, spread it out, and it should fall apart and display any twists

I've just bought my first wing (havnt done my courses yet) and took it out for the first time today to have a good look at it and pack it in a new concertina bag. Took it out of the stuff sack and the lines were like spaghetti! Then I remembered watching your video months ago!!! Literally 5 mins and sorted!!! Brilliant, cheers bud 🤘

mikocot they tend to clear themselves along with the rest, I mentioned that you should always kite afterwards, this will clear friction nots etc, and visually check that all is ok.

RobNav PPG as long as nothing passes through the cascades and you don’t have a line over, it’ll work. The video is uncut from the start of the tangles to the end. Follow it if you ever get stuck pal.

Paul, thanks a bunch mate. Some menacing kids messed with my wing dragged it around at the field while I was putting my paramotor away. The lines were all tangled like a girl with a bad hair day. I used to sort it out one line at a time miticulously which would take me more than half hour. This magic trick really works and here’s my proof: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rruggJiCxqfPoIE.html

Why does it work?
@PaulFrancis-SkyRascal3 жыл бұрын
All the lines are connected to two points, the risers and the wing. in their natural state they may loop over or wrap around each over, but won’t tangle. If you loop the risers trough lines then you have a problem. By freeing one line you ease the problem as the rest that are tangled are fixed to the same points. Note; if the risers go through the cascades you have a problem that won’t be fixed with this method.
