Wherever Islamic invaders went, they were successful in conquering and converting people. Do you know that Islamic invasions faced the MOST resistance in India ?? They were able to convert pakistan and Afghanistan. They couldn't wipe Hinduism. In fact, they understood that they can't convert India completely. Hinduism is very diverse and decentralised. They tried to coexist after that. Example, Akbar who had Hindus in his army. Plus, we all know about the DISUNITY among us. Tanhaji was fighting a rajpoot Uday ybhaan working for Mughals. We were also betrayed many times. Example, Abdali was helped by Hindus against Marathas. Despite disunity and betrayals, they saved us from a fate like Persia. If not for these men, pakistan would have been present day india and Pakistan. Hindus = less than 1 million.

Hey Rick, stuff that’s in 300 had been done before and has been in films after that as well. We notice it just because 300 is stylised to epic proportions. That’s rock climbing thing u mentioned before has been done a million times before in every hill climbing movies ever and others , just that, it’s stylised better in 300. When they say Lizard, it was an Iguana, a giant lizard, which grips the rock face . They tied a thick rope round it and when the lizard reached the top and secured its hold, the Maratha soldiers climbed up. They might show some hi jinx for effect, but the history confirms that they climbed the vertical rock. Such daring exploits earned Shivaji Maharaj the reputation among the Mughal army that he practices black magic 🤣

Finally - a well crafted story of Maratha battles. One of the greatest stories of Indian valour. Tanhaji Malusare is the guy who won the battle of Kondhana, a near vertical climb of mountain and fort. He won the battle, won the fort and died in the fight. The use of monitor lizards ("ghorpad", "yashwanti") to scale a mountain top fort. Shivaji Maharaj said - 'Gadh aala, pan sinha gela' (Marathi translation: * we got the fort but lost the lion* ) And Kondhana was renamed by Maharaj as "Sinhagadh" in his honour. This is what Bajirao's biopic should have been like - with Ranveer absolutely living the role. Should have made one for Battle of Palkhed - one of the greatest military battles of all time. Bajirao I - is India's greatest warrior of all time; 42 battles across 40 years; always victory. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, though great director just made it a love triangle - he made him look like a lovesick, pathetic, Devdas. That's just 10% of Bajirao's life. Bhansali's most movies are love triangles, maybe some psychological issue there.

@@yashroy9708 They react with such landed face throughout the video. Director who makes such historic action movies didn't have many options in terms of fighting sequences as there were not technology at that time, so maximum people fought with same techniques. 300 was not so epic movie that every Indian movie will copy it. You can't expect American audience to look beyond 300, mission impossible etc. After all they are introvert in nature. If you ask any Indian or Chinese school boy what's capital of US 75% will answer but you ask US school going boy what's capital of china or India or that matter Japan, russia. I don't care about the imagery and all! These are absolutely true events! During the Vietnamese President's visit to India, he was taken to Gandhi's memorial place as per the protocol, and he said that we want to visit King Shivaji's (the founder of Maratha swarajya/self-rule in the era of the mighty Mughal dominance) memorial, since it wasn't Gandhi's non-violence, but King Shivaji's guerilla warfare that helped them fight and eventually win their long battle against the mighty Americans. If you just read Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's history, you will understand why the man and his army (the Maratha army) is highly revered!

That’s ok. That’s a normal reaction of anyone. We always tend to compare new stuff with things we already know. When I saw speed ( which I love), the movie burning train did come to my mind. Similar concepts except that burning train was a train and speed was based in a bus.. that’s quite normal. Also, there is only so much they can do in war movies. There will always be similarities in epic war movies. They compare it to 300.. South India compares it to Bahubali. Many to Bajirao and so on..!! All these movies are completely different but war sequences of course will have some similarities..!!

In 1670, Tanaji, who hailed from "Umrathe" near Mahad, Konkan, was busy making preparations for his son, Rayaba's wedding when he was summoned by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for a meeting. Tanaji put the wedding plans on hold and immediately left for the meeting. On hearing Shivaji Maharaj's plan to recapture Kondhana fort near Pune from the Mughals, Tanaji took charge of the campaign and started his preparations. Upon reaching the foot of the fort, Tanaji and his detachment of 300 troops were said to have scaled the fort from the western side on a dark night with the help of a domesticated Bengal monitor lizard (called ghorpad in Marathi) named Yashwanti[3] to which they were said to have tied ropes and sent crawling up top to the precipice of the fort.[4] After two failed attempts, Tanaji and his men successfully scaled the steep hill fortress.[1] Once inside and after opening the Kalyan Darwaza, Tanaji, his men and another detachment of 500 troops headed by Suryaji (his younger brother) attacked the army holding down the fort. The fort was controlled by Udaybhan Rathod, a rajput officer appointed by Mughal general Jai Singh I. A fierce combat took place between the forces of Tanaji and Udaybhan. During the battle, Tanaji broke his shield but he continued fighting by tying his upper garment over his defending hand in order to ward off Udaybhan's blows. The fort was eventually conquered but in the process, Tanaji was gravely wounded and died fighting on the battlefield. Upon hearing the demise of Tanaji, Shivaji Maharaj was struck with grief and expressed his sorrow by famously saying, "Gad ala, pan sinha gela" ("Got the fort but lost the lion.") As a tribute to the bravery of Tanaji, the fort was renamed, Sinhagad (lion's fort) by Shivaji Maharaj.

Honest opinion: When similar kind of movies have been made in the past, sometimes some shots will look very similar but doesn't necessarily have to be a copy. If we talk about the fort climbing scene, there would have been movies before 300 that had similar scenes. So, on this one I feel it is a little too harsh to say it is taken from 300. It can be a inspiration or copy or original but can't judge that based on a couple of seconds in the trailer. I am not saying this because I'm emotional or something, I just felt it was reading too much in too less.

Hi guys, #ourstupidreaction #Tanhaji I myself is from Maharashtra (currently living in Cali). I heard you said you wanna know more back story about this story line. So people from Maharashtra are called Maharashtrian. This story was in my history books as well. So 'Shivaji Maharaj' is still considered to be one the greatest king ever lived in Maratha empire. Tanhaji was with Shivaji Maharaj during this time and he was one of the most brave warrier. Shivaji Maharaj used to have unique strategy to fight with his enemies. It was called 'Ganimi Kawa' which means he will use mountains, forests and the landscape in such a way that 10 Maratha warrier can kill thousands of their enemies. They knew how to use terrain in their favor. Also, the stunt he mentioned about rock climbing that looks like its taken from 300 movie, it was actually described in history books about how they used to move on mountains. Once you watch this movie you will see a lot of things related to so called 'Ganimi Kawa'. Appreciate your reaction and feel happy i could help. Cheers 🥂

Yes the climbing by ropes is common in Indian history, it used to get into forts where they used to hook the rope on various levels and then get up on forts. Mostly Indian forts are made on hill tops and highlands and had one defined way to come inside and enemies don't use the defined ways...so these were the means for trespassing.

Maratha was basically the empire that the British defeated to conquer India. After capturing Northern plains, the downward March of Mughal empire in 17th century was halted by Marathas and recaptured over a span of 50 years. Marathas ruled central India, which is rocky, hilly plateau region. Marathas were also able to re-capture the bulk of land back from Mughals and at one point Marathas ruled 70% of today's India. Until British arrived with their guns. The last battle that British fought before declaring victory over the subcontinent was against MARATHAS. Marathas were extremely adept at guerrilla warfare, they could kill armies with a handful of solders (this is not fiction) simply by staying at the top of forts and staying hidden for months. They had mastered the art of hidden warfare, climbing mountains, capturing forts, attacking in jungles, slopes, rivers, valleys, gorges ... they used geographical complexities to their advantage. Even their horses were trained in rock climbing, swimming, leaping etc. Marathas used attack weapons that were a mix of whip and sword, a flexible sword to be precise. It was unbreakable, but sliced through enemies like butter. They even used tiny pebbles to their advantage, simply dropping pebbles from top of the fort was enough to dislodge entire Mughal army because Mughals were trained to fight on plains and deserts and their horses could hardly hold up in slopes and rocky terrain, rivers etc. Marathas are the reason why South India is still untouched by Islamic invasion. The architectural structures in North India are dominated by Mughal architecture (built by razing Hindu temples) and those in South India are ancient Hindu temples, some as old as 6000 years, because the Mughals could never make it to south. THANKS TO MARATHAS!!!

Watch the video. Rick explains in detail that they are talking about the cinematography and certain action shots, not the stories. There are several shots in this clip that are clearly duplicated from 300. As Rick said, he does not know why. but perhaps the director and cinematographer of this movie were giving a respectful salaam to the directer and cinematographer of 300 by filming and presenting the same shots here. The visual images are not the story, they are just a way to tell a story. The same way that Hrithik sometimes using Michael Jackson's dance moves does not remake Hrithik into Michael.

People living in maharashtra speaks the language of Marathi. Today, Maratha is only considered as a caste but back in those days every Marathi was used to be referred to as a Maratha. Also, Maratha empire had quite intriguing weapons and tricks which they developed during their time. The rope trick that you saw in this video is part of the trick they developed and was used in reality.

New idea/ pitch for a show : Anyone who can write a script will send their script for this show and those actors are fading out will appear in this show( in each and every episode a new actor appears) and they will listen to those scripts and those actors will choose whether they want to ACT, DIRECT, PRODUCE, RECOMMEND these scripts
