“Japanese Thor” is literally one of the best lead trumpet players in the world, lol. His name is Eric Miyashiro and he played with jazz legends like Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich when he was younger. Lots of KZfaq videos of him that are worth checking out, especially if you like screaming jazz trumpet.

Cowboy Bebop is my second favorite show of all time, not just anime. It would have 1000% failed without Yoko Kanno score, I'm pretty sure that's her shadow dancing. Bebop is also my 3rd favorite fantasy/sci-fi universe and there isn't a second spent explaining a thing about, everything just works and feels so lived in, again the score is a big part of the emersion into that world.

I'm pretty sure the guy you called 'Japanese Thor' is Eric Miyashiro. I first saw him in a video of a tribute concert to Maynard Ferguson (who wrote the Rocky theme amongst other things) where they were playing his most famous piece. Great video, suggest you watch!
