Very helpful information; Tanzanian's, as is the case with all Africans, are very talented with speaking 2 or more languages. The official language of Tanzania is Kiswahili; it is spoken in government, schools, media and business...it is so accommodating of the Tanzanians to take the time to learn English. We should learn alot more Kiswahili; it is a beautiful language.
@ferdinandtjombe6016

I agree wholeheartedly that it's so much more beneficial to learn not only Kiswahili but foreign languages in general, especially with people you have constant contact with. My eyes almost popped out to learn there are 120 tribes in Tanzania and, therefore, 120 languages. I guess many are probably dialects of one or the other main stream indigenous languages. In Namibia, my country, we have about 11 languages, including those inherited from Europe such as English (our official language), Afrikaans (a form of Dutch and the lingua franca), German, French, Portuguese and to a lesser extent Italian. There is a healthy diversity of languages, some as old as humans themselves in particular the click sounding languages from the San nation, who lived in southern Africa before we all arrived here afterwards. Thank you for your comment about the importance of reciprocating the gesture of Tanzanians who speak English and it is now up to us to learn Kiswahili. God bless.🙏❣️

@@phoenixclaw456 it looks beautiful there and from what I've learned from others who live there they are really happy. Their only complaints is being overcharged all the time and having to negotiate prices. I'm planning to visit East and West Africa in 2024 to decide if I want to make it my new home! I'm excited about it and I do believe there are some good people there as well as in the US.

Watch out for animals feeding from open to the wild buffets. My lodge restaurant was with a view of the river (hippos or crocs), thatched roofs, and no walls. One monkey mother stole the sugar server (for tea and coffee). A milk/cottage cheese dish was visited from above by a civet. In both cases the food was resurfaced so you wouldn’t know an animal ate out of it. If I went again, I’d bring my own sugar and avoid dairy.

I've wanted to go to Tanzania ever since I learned that they have Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, and Zanzibar all in the one country! (And they also speak Swahili, which I've dabbled in). Is it reasonable to do all 3 in, say, a week? Like do the safari and Kilimanjaro (not climbing the whole thing, just a day at the base) and save the beach at Zanzibar for the end? What would be the best route from the mountain to the island?

Just be aware that Mozambique the country to the south of Tanzania is experiencing an active and escalating Islamic State-linked insurgency in the country’s north. Just in the last month the French company Total suspended a multibillion-dollar investment operation because of this. Critical Threats is waring, "insurgency in Mozambique may spill into the country’s larger neighbor, Tanzania, risking broader destabilization and the expansion of the Salafi-jihadi threat in East Africa. Salafi-jihadi insurgents based in Mozambique executed six villagers in a Tanzanian border village on November 13."

It still amazes me how "white" americans come to other countries as tourist, especially countries disproportionately affected by their ancestors and purposely capitalize on the high conversion rate to live much more comfortably than the locals while visiting and then choose not to tip well, like you would tip your waiter in the U.S. That money for them would have a major life changing impact... even if it's just one person during your entire stay. Why not help offset the unofficial sanctions imposed by your countries and the stolen wealth as africans countries are are still paying reparations to various countries for the money lost in free labor from their enslavement and colonialism. Why not make a video showing us how you impacted someones life there while the U.S currency still affords you the privilege of a life changing exchange rate. Peace, Love and Blessings. Look forward to new socially and economically uplifting content. 💪🏿
