Yep, I think this is a really good expansion for the game too. Happy that it gives you more (and unusual) ways to use elements of the core game in different strategies. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts!

Thanks for checking it out! More stuff in games can sometimes be a little overwhelming, not the case for Tapestry in our eyes.

"Fun not Fair" is an excellent encapsulation of Tapestry. I quite like the game and I do think better players will win more than they lose but as you say the game can be swingy but, for me, its swingy like a roller coaster and I'm always up for a ride :)

Yeah that’s totally right, there’s still strategy in knowing how to extend your actions before taking an income turn. Like most games more actions = more opportunities for points. We just adopted a cheer everyone on kind of mentality when we play Tapestry.

I've been trying to look for reviews for this expansion on youtube.. and now here you guys are with an awesome review of the game!! can't wait if you would do a playthrough using this expansion and the previous expansion!! ❤️

Hope the video was helpful for you! We unfortunately have a backlog of other games to cover so we don’t have any plans to do another full playthrough for tapestry at the moment. 😔

One of my favourite games of all time, glad to see this expansion add something new like the 5th tracks and also at last MORE TECH CARDS! Can’t wait to get this expansion! ❤️

definitely agreed with your thoughts on this! i feel like the expansion is definitely giving more of what you love, if you already enjoy tapestry! beautiful overview and review as always friends! p.s. when i looked back at your first vid of tapestry i thought you were both fine on camera but def have some major upgrades now vs before AND THEN when i look back at my old stuff i die inside 😂

Really looking forward to this expansion! Swingy nature of the game and unbalanced civs almost never bothered me in this game since I normally play this with my wife and we don’t usually take this too seriously. I’ve been dreaming of a fifth art track since plans and ploys came out and didn’t realize someone had made a fan expansion on BGG until reading the design diaries and seeing that it was the origin for this expansion. Also really excited for the new capital city mats, definitely been wanting a little variety with those.

Yeah a 5th track was definitely something we both wanted. So glad they decided to go with it for this expansion. We primarily play this 2-3 player so turns can be pretty snappy for the most part and we pretty much accept the randomness and swings in Tapestry.

We are often play with house rule: draw 2 keep 1 for tapestry cards, this lowers the luck factor in this game a little. Players see more cards, so there's better chance of drawing card that suits your strategy

Do you consider either (or both) of the expansions to be "essential"? For example, I kind of feel like the Oceana expansion makes Wingspan way better. Do either of the expansions for Tapestry add something that you feel elevates the game or do you feel like they're just more of something you already like?

I’d say non are absolutely essential. The rules updates posted on the Stonemaier games site can be used without any expansions. If I were to choose 1 though, it would be this one for sure.
