I just started thinking about weaving along with my interest in macrame to make wall hangers. I enjoyed your instructions so far. I’ve also looked at your previous videos on how to make the PVC pipe loom, it was just what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about weaving. Thank you! I haven’t started weaving yet but am looking for projects with my homespun wool, this was very helpful 😊. Are the natural dyes colour fast? Would they survive being hand washed if you used that yarn for a garment? This is something I’ve been curious about as I’d love to dye some of my yarn, I’ll definitely check out your info on natural dyes 😅

Natural dye colors are generally color fast, if the fiber was pre-mordanted. As a rule of thumb 'classic' natural dyes are light and wash color fast. Dyes made from things you can eat are probably not. But...natural dyeing is a craft of experimentation. You will always get different variations from the same plant and the fun of this fiber art is trying, testing, and discovering. I have a lot of natural dye videos and posts on the blog. If the project is going to be special I would definitely do a test batch on the fiber you plan to work with before committing to a full tapestry or sweater.
