Now that you have set up your Tapo C120 and have it placed where you would like what's next? Well, that would be setting up timers, routines, and more. This is where the Tapo app comes in. This video is a walk-through of the app for the Tapo C120. Keep in mind this is only a small part of the overall Tapo app, so there is a lot more it can do.

Hey Wanderer001! Just wanted to thank you again. I commented on another vid of yours a week or two ago and after watching a ton of your vids you prompted me to do something I have been wanting to do for a long time...I took down all 8 of Google Nest cameras (2 outdoor, 5 indoor, 1 Doorbell) and replaced them with the Tapo MagCam, 4 C120's, 1 C225 and the super ugly but super functional battery doorbell - D230S1 (the new one announced at CES looks really nice). I also got the H200 hub and a Tapo Smart Button in which to my surprise, Alexa now supports routines to be triggered by the Tapo button and not just for Tapo products. I've been stuck in the Google Ecosystem forever and it was liberating to get these cameras out of my life and cancel Nest Aware. So, just wanted to let you know that your detailed walkthroughs and comprehensive breakdowns do not fall on deaf ears.

Very nice video. Much more helpful than the manual. Quick question: if I have a street light in front of my driveway and my C120 is pointing that way, what are the best settings to get color image at night without using the camera spotlights? Night Boost would use the spotlights? So am I better off just leaving my camera in Day Mode 24/7? Would that make the camera use the streetlight to adjust its image at night? Thanks for your help!

Based on your discriptoin using night boost without the spot light is what you would want. The only issue that could happen is if the camera thinks it is too dark and turns the IR lights on and it is behind a window that would reflect back and make it so you could not see anything. However chances are if you have a street light that the camera is focused on you should be ok.

Camera is outside and street light is across the street and lighting up the driveway just enough I believe, so I'll be using Night Boost without spot lights then. Thank you so much for your help@@Wanderer001_Reviews_Clips

Hey, maybe you'll be able to help me with my issue with this camera. I pointed this camera it at my back garden through the window and when the night mode turns on the glare from IR lights dazzels the sensor and the video is completely white out. I tried changing settings of the Night Boost, for example I tried indoor mode instead of outdoor more, it didn't change the outcome. But the bigger issue I'm having is that for some reason night boost mode somehow turns itself back on again after I turn it off and get back out of the setting menu. I tried resetting the camera - it still does it. Any ideas why that might be? Thank you.

First thing I always like to do is make sure the firmware is up to date to make sure it is not a bug that was fixed. I have not been able to re create this myself, so it might be worth setting up a rutine to make sure that every day to tells the camera to make sure it is in the mode you want.

@@Wanderer001_Reviews_Clips it updated the firmware right after I connected it to the Wi-Fi and my phone using the app. But essentially, I managed to turn it off yesterday, but the glare on the glass is still dazzles the sensor. I was planning to use it outside anyway, I just bought a USB extension and going to relocate it, so the glass glare should not be a problem anymore. Thanks for the reply! 🙂 All the best! 🙂
