She is fantastic. The camera work takes away from anyone wanting to learn from the visual elements of this recording, bowings etc.

Hm. Great stuff, but neither tune is a jig. Both reels, eh?

What's the technical difference?? Then explain it to a beginner in english? 😁 To me that sounded like one song.

@@tobingj two different tunes, both reels. A set. A jig is in 6/8 time while a reel is generally 4/4. I don’t know how much basic music theory you are familiar with. If you know the tune Irish Washerwoman, that is a jig. A rhythm of notes in two sets of three. A quick 1-2-3 1-2-3, and on. Versus a reel, which is a rhythm in groups of four, a quick 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4.

@@a4naught perfect. Good explanation. New to me. Learning whistle , flute at the moment. 👍 I think it changes about 1:32. First part flows smootter than the second half. I would guess nigger difference between notes in the second.

@@a4naught my initial reply is gone. Good explanation. Thanks. I listened to the washerwoman. Very obvious 123 in it. I'm new and learning whistle/flute. Listened to this "set" again and I think I hear the transition from the first flowing piece, to the second about 1:32.

@@tobingj about right. Also went from a major key to a minor. It’s essential to train your ears for traditional music. And in general, as a musician.
